Mazda Genuine Retractable Cargo Cover CX-5

Installs in less than a minute. Hooking and unhooking the cover to the hatch hooks is very easy -- the little plastic springs in the hatch hooks hold the cover in place, and pushing up easily releases the cover. The screen that unrolls as the hatch is opened is the best -- you can see in and out of the cabin while the hatch is open. Apparently only the genuine Mazda cargo cover has that feature. The spring-loaded flaps fill the gap between the bar and the seatbacks nicely, allowing the seatback tilt to be adjusted as well. More expensive than the others, but you definitely get what you pay for.

This fit perfectly and it was so simple installing it. I love that you can clip it to the back of the tailgate and when it opens it automatically lifts up. I believe you can latch it where it’s more stationary as well, I haven’t tried it that way as I like that it automatically lists up so you don’t have to worry about it when putting groceries in the car etc.

I am so glad I shelled out for the Mazda brand instead of getting a copycat. This works great. It is super easy to install & remove if you need to. You can’t see anything if you look through the window. Well worth the money!

Looked at a few cheaper third party options but ultimately went with this because it's an actual Mazda part from manufacturer. Fit perfectly and installed in 1 minute. I have no idea why this wasn't stock with the vehicle but rest assure this will fit and do the job well. Your cargo is no longer visible through back window and you can still see unobstructed while driving.

It's very well made - solid construction - perfect fit. I'm sure the same can be said about some of the third party covers. But all of the third party covers either left a gap between the rear seats and the bar, or filled the gap with fabric that you had to tie around the rear seat headrests (and then untie every time you wanted to put one of the seats down). The Mazda cover has two plastic spring loaded flaps (60/40) that fill the gap and adjust independently if either side is reclined. I don't know if the any of the third party covers has the mesh feature but it's definitely nice. (For those unfamiliar, the cover is solid. However when the liftgate is opened, the cover raises up as the liftgate opens. As the liftgate swings out, the cover that extends out of the bar is a see through mesh material allowing you to see out the back or into the front of the vehicle. One thing to note: The instructions show the cover being stowed under the cargo floor. That would be wonderful. Unfortunately, for US models at least, the spare tire fills the space shown. The only tiny complaints I have is: 1, the box was just thrashed and torn when it arrived. The contents inside were fine. And 2: it kind of killed my new car smell. It had a slight vinyl / plastic odor which I'm sure will fade quickly...but still. :)

Looks good, fits properly, and works well. Likely a much bwtter bet than the cheap knockoffs.

So what do you use to hide your groceries in the back of a small SUV? A vexing question for sure! In a quandry, using my go to source, I turned to Amazon where I quickly found the Retractable Cargo Cover CX-5. Wow, does this thing work! The price was right, it was delivered in an unworldly and impossibly fast timeframe. The quality is excellent, it is an OEM part, installation and removal are idiot proof and not to be too redundant, the price was right. Now, my sleep is sound, worries over visible groceries in the back of my car have evaporated and all is well. Thank you Amazon and merchant!
