Comfy Mouse
Awesome mouse! Extremely comfortable for gaming! Love the feel and the programable buttons. Easy to use software for programming things to the buttons. Design is cool and love the extra scroll wheel
User
Excellent build quality, lots of adjustments to fit all hand sizes.
Really easy to use, adjusted very quickly to fit my hand and I like the pinky rest which keeps my 3rd & 4th fingers off the mousepad. Despite other comments, I found the software for setting up the lighting and the sensitivity was easy and intuitive to use.I like the quality feel of the buttons, the specific features like the aim button and the second scroll wheel, and the ability to adjust sensitivity and speed on the fly. Once set, the profile is saved in the mouse, so there is no need to have unnecessary software running on the pc the whole time.

Great!
Great product. Had a wireless one years ago and had several different mice and now got another RAT which is my all time favourite. Good weight and lots of options to customise the feel and different weights

The Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+ can weigh 140 grams, not just the 157 grams listed everywhere!!!
The Mad Catz R.A.T. 8+ mouse weighs 140 grams when you remove all three additional weight sliders, not 157 grams as stated on other sites. This pleasantly surprised me after buying it, because I was afraid that after long-term use of a 100-gram mouse, switching to the R.A.T. 8+ would be too heavy and difficult to use, but I was pleasantly surprised that I DIDN’T FEEL THE WEIGHT AT ALL, because the mouse simply flies in your hand)))I am very, very glad I ordered the 8+ model and not the 6+!!!I rate the mouse 10 out of 10. 👌🏼

Great mouse, not so great software
I do like FPS games and I was always finding that my pinky was resting on the table/mouse mat, getting in the way and created inconsistency (must blame the tools!). I'd been looking for ages for something with a "shelf" for both the thumb and pinky rest. This one was expensive, but I went for it.I plugged it in and had a go at "physically" configuring it... moving the thumb rest, palm rest, angles, distance, etc. At first I found it quite fatiguing to hold, but little tweaks and I got comfortable.I initially found it great for the smoothness, but difficult to be really precise as that resting pinky did used to give me a little bit of pivot point. After a few months of adjusting, I do feel it's done what I wanted it to. I more consistent aim and I feel a little bit more accurate than I was before! So, someone looking for the same sort of thing should go for it.I did clip the mouse "feet" early on on my hard mouse mat and it caused a scraping feeling. However, I contacted support and they sent me a couple of packs of "feet". So that was good service. The one downside to the mouse is the software. It has lots of configurability, but it's not that user friendly. The worst bit is that the settings are stored on the mouse, so when you load the software... it doesn't load the current settings. When you feel like tweaking it a bit, you need to remember what you set it to before. Not great!I'd have given it 5* if it weren't for the software... but if you know to write down/export your settings...

fantastic
this mouse brand has been around for a long time but i didnt get one because of the price but i dont like using a light weight mouse so i got one of these (the rat 8 plus) , if anything i would prefer this mouse if it was a bit heavier but its fine as it is. it is nice quality, my main concern was that the side buttons would bother me but they dont. my other mouse had annoying side buttons & everytime i picked it up those buttons would trigger & mess my browser up, this is not like that, the buttons dont trigger all over the place, there is a precision aim button on the side but its not in the way so you can handle the mouse without setting it off. nice quality, i like the rubbery grip panels. will update review after ive used it for a while.

MAD CATZ RAT 8+ FPS gaming mouse
If you like FPS games do yourself a favour and get one of these, don't struggle on with a normal desktop mouse. life is too short! Very high build quality. Hardware is configurable as are the LEDs and the software allows key assignment to mouse buttons. Good ergonomic design and looks good. Packaging is a bit fiddly and would be nice to have a pouch to store the spare hardware in once you have thrown away the fussy packaging.

Great Mouse, Poor Software, Non Existent Support
I have experienced the same issues with the software mentioned in other reviews.I owned various RAT's in their previous incarnation, and whilst the devices themselves seem identical, the driver software doesn't work, it hasn't been updated for nearly a year now. On the original drivers (they are still available on the new site but don't work with these mice) when programming a button, you could set an event on the Down and Up stroke of a button which, you can't do that currently, only the down which makes it impossible to program anything that requires the button to be held (push to talk in Discord for example). The thumb roller is pretty useless now as that doesn't have an Up stroke at all, so setting a key stroke to that doesn't really work at all.I've been ignored by them on almost every platform they have and they continue to ignore my emails and the 'Contact Us' on their site is just plane broken. Not good enough for such an expensive mouse, which is a damn shame because for me it's one the best designs for many years.

striking
The aesthetic and customization is nice, but it comes with a problem, it's heavy regarding the waight adjusting system, and bulky

The beast
The best mouse I've ever used. Also probably the most wasteful purchase I've ever made. Don't get it expecting to get better at any games or anything. If that is what you want, look elsewhere. If you're getting it because it's an incredibly cool bit of tech with all its attahments and colors and bling, go for it. Just don't try to justify it as anything other than overkill. That being said, you'll see plenty of information about how madcatz lost their quality over the years. I've been using mine for about 4 months now and it's as solid as it was on day 1. Will update if it dies or does something

Forget about premium quality
If You think it is succcecor of R.A.T. 3, well give up the hope.Standard/Low quality workmanship + Famous logo = Big disappointment. The creators should be ashamed, customers feel nostalgia for good, oldshool product.

MAD CATZ RAT 8+
