Aico Detector, White

I installed this Aico smoke alarm in my house, and the process was very easy and straightforward. It didn’t take long to fit, and the instructions were clear, making it simple even without much experience. The alarm feels well-built and high quality, which gives me confidence in its reliability. It was quick to set up and started working immediately. I also like how simple it is to test and maintain. Overall, I’m very happy with this smoke alarm. It provides peace of mind knowing my home is better protected, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and easy-to-install smoke detector.

I’ve installed hundreds of these, for domestic use I wouldn’t use any other brand. These are way better than the traditional 9v battery back up models. Sure they cost a little more but in my experience the ones with the 9v batteries always decide to start beeping to tell you to change the battery around 3am when the temperature is lowest! These are self rechargeable so no rude awakening! Besides that they are easy to install, reliable and part of a wider range that all interlink together. Another reason I choose these products is that when it’s time to replace (manufacture states 10 years) you know you will be able to get a compatible aico that will just clip onto the existing plate. I replace lots of other types of alarms where the design has either changed or they are no longer made. Also Aico technical support is spot on. Quick and knowledgeable. Not that most of you will need to contact them but the times I have had to they’ve always been great. Amazon was a decent price, on par with good wholesalers, and considerably better than the likes of screwfix etc. In my opinion they are one of the better looking types of fire alarm as well. Especially this series.

Straight replacement for previous model onto same connector plate. Trivial to fit, seems to work when testing reliably, and I hope never to have to see this working in anger!

Easier to fit than I expected replaced a smoke detector which is no longer made. Just make sure to photograph the one(s) it is replacing so you know the witing locations.

Simply the best type of smoke alarms that I install regularly as an electrician. This can also be purchase to replace an old Aico head too without the need for an electrician callout

I've been fitting extras of these into a friend's rental property. They are the genuine article and a better price (at the time) than buying from the usual (trade) sources. Will buy again.

I had 3 existing Aico Ei166RC smoke detectors that had passed their 10 year useable lives and needed replacement. The direct replacement is the EI3016. Usefully Aico have maintained the same base deign so the replacement was straightforward - turn off the breaker for the smoke detectors (I live in Scotland so my smoke detectors are mains powered and hardwired interlinked), swap out the detector part, switch on and test Well done Aico for maintaining a standard design

Have 2 of these already installed and needed one more so ordered off here. It came in a box that was taped up (as if had already been opened and box damaged), installed fine but doesn’t work. Obviously a dud. Or someone’s already returned it for the same reason and it’s been sent out to me. Constantly chirping and when pressing test button it just fizzed and whirred. Just buy from a local hardware store
