Take your team to the next level by applying The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace. Review: Itโs good book - Love the soft touch cover. And the book was helpful for me to know how to communicate with my colleagues better Review: Big Fan of Gary Chapman - I have liked Gary Chapman ever since โThe 5 Love Languages.โ I have NOT read all his books but the ones I have read I TRULY enjoy. This one, โThe 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplaceโ, was no exception. I enjoyed it. I like that he gives real life experiences with each language. Sometimes it might be hard to think of an appropriate way to show appreciation in the workplace. This book will help you that issue. I like that he tells supervisors and managers that how you are showing appreciation might not be best for the employee.

A must have for work!
My colleagues apparently read me like a book last spring! My second language of appreciation is gifts and even though no one at work had read this book, they picked the perfect way to tell me thank you. I purchased one for my boss and will be giving it to him as a thank-you as well! I really hope he is able to find some special ways to tell my colleagues thank you in meaningful ways! I plan to use this for the remainder of my life!!! Incredible knowledge to have!!!

Turned a blog post into a book
Summary: How workplace productivity is dominated by an unseen metric: the level of appreciation each employee feels from other employees and their superiors. I'm giving it 5 stars because, as a manager, this idea is a good one and one I needed to read about right now as I grow my team.

Easy read, applicable concepts
This book is a such an easy read with a useful framework for thinking about the ways we can appreciate each other and why itโs important to express these sentiments. Although the book was published before the pandemic, the authors address the hybrid/remote work environments and how to build strong relationships despite the distance. There is also a chapter about generational differences in the workforce, which I find many colleagues are interested in at present. I think some of the information presented throughout the book is very obvious and could have been edited down. For instance, there is a chapter about how to apply these concepts in different industries. Instead of actually writing about this application, they named the challenges of major industries, which would be apparent to anyone in that particular field. Ultimately, I plan on discussing this concept with my team and think it could be a useful team builder at the very least.

Great work and tangible insights to make a more caring workplace
The information and statistics on the value of appreciation are compelling. The guidance and suggestions are simple to implement. Hopefully more organizations will understand the value. And I look forward to sharing the information and being a champion for the cause. Great job Gary Chapman and Paul White!

The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace
Very useful for supporting learning around the competency of empathy in emotional intelligence workshops. I use this book regularly and have 4 copies that all are in use by staff for their own knowledge development.
