High intensity training at your fingertips!
Just getting straight to the detail with out holding anyone up unnecessarily. This product supplies you with chalk for a VERY LONG TIME well long enough for you to lift intensely heavy and see gains from your lifts for sure. Each block provides almost half of zip lock bag after being completely crushed to dust since in it's original form each block is a thick hard cube. All Praises be to GOD , this was most definitely worth the money and saves you energy and time in your workouts, because due to the fact that you don't have to waste a set of deadlifts just because your fingers slipped and gave up before your upper and lower body gave up when the weights become insanely heavy. With that in mind chalking up before every set gives you the optimum results in terms of performance in each lift so you can give everything you got without having sweaty & slippery hands. By GOD's permission this will also progressively improve your raw grip strength, granted that you do not use gloves or any intermediaries between the bar and your hands. Bottom of the line, it a beautiful product and very helpful especially at this price to keep resupplying yourselves shouldn't be a problem GOD willing.

No excuses not to lift...for a long, long time...
Received this chalk yesterday. Decided to buy this over the Eco-ball because not only is the eco rarely in stock, but had read reviews about the eco compound not coming off the hands so easily. Anyway, this chalk is good. Improves grip immediately and with the very least amount of chalk applied. I will try it out for deadlifts which was the main reason I got it. I didn't want to mask my grip with straps or gloves. I am sure this will work just fine. Did bent rows yesterday and through all the sets, did not have to re-apply. One thing though, this removes all excuses for lifting, for a long time. You get a lot of it. And I used what amounted to about 3/4 of an inch of product. Maybe going in halfsies with a friend might be good for some. Again, great product at a sick value. Update: Used this for 1st time for Deads, and this chalk is ridiculous. Once you lift the weight, the bar just "digs" into your hand, no slip at all. And the best part, it reduces the chances of calluses and bleeding from calluses just because the bar does not slip. At least not for now. Can't believe I've lifted this long without using this.

and I find this is some good stuff. If you're looking for a solid block ...
I read a lot of reviews about "special" chalks and people mad because it was broken during shipping or doesn't hold form, or whatever other reason that was out there. I got this box, opened up my first, it was cracked, kept it on the paper in the holder I have for chalk. chalked up, had the grip of a bear. If it dries your hands up too much, just wash it off after your workout and put some lotion on your hands if that concerns you. I've been using the chalk daily, and I find this is some good stuff. If you're looking for a solid block of powder, be realistic, this is coming in the mail and has been bounced around the truck a few times. The packaging was gorilla proof (packed to the brim with air bags) and I still had 2 bricks cracked, but the other 6 were fine. pinch pieces off them and use it as you go. Wash your hands first, dry them well, then use it and you can't go wrong. My hands sweat a lot when I mess with metals and this kept my hands dry. Really nothing else I can say other than... it's chalk, and it dries my hands. That, my friends, is all it's required to be.

Do not purchase if u r looking for soft BSN
This BSN was sooooo hard absolutely not what I was expecting. My hand actually started hurting crushing it!! I don’t think I will ever purchase BSN again. It cost way to much for it not to be what its supposed to be.

Used for indoor rock climbing
My wife and I have been climbing for about two months and went through our trial Black Diamond chalk balls that came with our harnesses. To replace it we ordered this chalk because it was cheap and essentially the exact same stuff (magnesium carbonate.) First impression - there's a ton of this stuff. You receive 8 bricks and while each one weighs only 2 ounces it produces quite a bit once broken up. I used an old protein drink container to hold 4 after I smashed them and it was about half full. On the walls - there was a certain quality to the Black Diamond chalk that this stuff seems to lack though once you get used to it it performs adequately. Additionally this stuff dries out the hands a bit more than the other chalk but when gripping a small crimp hold on an overhang or sloper it's usually good to have as little moisture as possible on your hands. I would say there is probably some sort of processing that black diamond does to their chalk that makes it feel the way it does but when all is said and done getting a pound of chalk for less than 15 bucks is a steal when it works as well as this stuff does. For climbing there isn't a much better deal than this stuff. Most of the major manufacturers use the same ingredients as this stuff contains and want to charge you 3 times as much for the same amount. If you're not particular about your chalk you can't go wrong with this.

Works just fine for deadlifting
I bought this chalk nearly three years ago and just crumbled the last block into my bag at the gym. It's now inexplicably 50-70% more expensive than it was back then, so I ordered a different brand via Amazon for replacement stock. You can't carry a block of this to the gym and chalk your hands directly with it. It will break and crumble. I crumble a block or two into a big Ziploc bag, into which I can dip both my hands, and chalk up that way, which works well, is fairly tidy, and lasts a long time based on my use. Other commenters have complained that this chalk is insufficient for rock climbing. Perhaps you need something a bit more resin-y for that. I don't know. I can tell you, however, that it is perfect for barbell lifting. I don't need a heavy layer of it on my hands, just a thorough dusting, quickly working it in like hand lotion. It's a light powder when you crumble it, like talc, very dry, which is what you want it to be. I use it when I deadlift heavy once a week (started using it at 275 when I was a novice deadlifter.) I also use it when I do heavy trap bar Farmer's Carries (430 lbs these days) once a week, and when I'm overhead pressing heavy and sweating a lot (usually only 3-4 months over summer, as the gym is cool enough the rest of the year that I get a solid heavy press grip without it.) I don't use straps when I lift. I deadlift using a hook grip, so this chalk is my major lifting aid. Am very happy with it. It's easy to crumble and I like carrying it in the Ziploc bag, breaking it out when I need it. I've never had a grip problem while using it. Not once. In fact, I never give a second thought to my grip when I'm using it, which is a sure sign it works well.

This is MAGIC.
This is the first chalk I've ever used, so I don't know how it compares to others, but the first day I used this it was MAGIC. I've been struggling to hit a new personal record in my deadlift for weeks, even while using straps, but once I threw away the straps and just used this chalk, that PR was so effortlessly reached. My hands also were perfectly fine. They didn't get calloused or red and irritated. I instantly fell in love with this stuff. This box comes with 8 giant blocks of chalk, which is basically enough to last me the rest of my life. I've read on other websites that it is important to try to maintain your chalk, as in keep it protected from heat or humidity, or else it will soak up the humidity and lose its effectiveness. After being in different gym environments, one that is cool and dry and one that is extremely hot and humid, I can definitely see the usefulness of this advice on keeping the chalk well maintained. I just put the block of chalk in a gallon-sized ziplock bag and make sure I squeeze out all the air and tightly seal it when I'm done for the day. So far so good.

Magnesium Carbonate, no hype, no fancy brand, no problem!
Magnesium Carbonate in blocks, exactly what it says! I ordered this for rock climbing and I'm very pleased. I don't buy into hype and did a lot of research on chalk, some climbing chalks have drying agents added but as far as I could tell this is just pure magnesium carbonate. It seems to be working just fine. I was using Petzl chalk before this and it feels exactly the same, as it should! Some fancy brand name doesn't magically change it to SUPER Magnesium Carbonate! I guess the drying agents in some might work well not sure, this works just fine for me. Friction Labs is the new hyped chalk in climbing people are throwing money at but they claim theirs is just "highly refined" magnesium carbonate with no drying agents, is it better? I don't know haven't tried it, but I'm thinking it's all just marketing. Maybe I'll try some if someone has some, but a whole POUND of this stuff is cheaper than a 2.5oz bag of Friction Labs! Even if you buy their 10oz bag it's $25, it's just chalk! Some people love throwing away money thinking it's gonna make them better, it's just to dry your sweaty hands! Maybe I'm wrong but I think this stuff is juuuuuuust fiiiinnnneee!

Adequate and does the job
It works but it breaks apart extremely easily. Not necessarily a problem but I have used other brands and with those, you can apply the chalk like applying a bar of soap. Decent price, worth the buy.

Bueno a secas.
