I was looking for an affordable 4K monitor and this one is great for the price.Pros:-4K resolution + IPS + 10-bit color from a brand I've at least heard of before AND less than $300--it's the only monitor I know of with all of those-Much brighter plus much more accurate colors than my previous monitor!-Sturdy metal base-The top and side bezels of the monitor are super thin--maybe around 1 cm. The panel itself is quite thin, too-Sound output built in (NOT speakers though--see below)Cons:-Others have pointed out the lack of VESA compatibility but I personally wasn't planning on mounting my monitor anyway. My last monitor also wasn't VESA compatible. Either way, if it's a must-have, look elsewhere.-If you're hoping it has built in speakers, it does not. Like most people, however, I use my own. What it DOES have is an audio *output* port via the HDMI 2 cable, which I actually use. What this means is the audio comes from the HDMI cable that's plugged into your video card, then you use a cable that connects the audio output from your monitor to your speakers. I personally just use an Oontz Angle sound bar speaker, which is more than enough for my needs (and sounds much better than any built in monitor speakers that I've ever heard).Other Thoughts:-4K is probably a little overkill for a 27" screen, but 1) it's a new standard for TV/etc. (as opposed to 1440p) plus I do watch movies and broadcast TV through my monitor, and 2) the main reason I got it was actually for sharp text in large spreadsheets that I put together for work, and this is rocks for that. It's WAYYYY better than my last monitor (a 23" 1080p HP monitor) in that regard! And 3) for things like gaming you can set the resolution to something like 1440p-It's "only" 60 Hz--obviously; the thing is, 1) a 4K monitor pushing, say, 144 Hz is currently hundreds and hundreds of dollars more--literally. And 2) even if the monitor had the capability, virtually no video cards today could push out those types of frame rates at that resolution with today's latest games, so no real point, at least not for a few years.-I have to admit that I myself am not a massive expert who has compared dozens of the latest high-tech monitors. I'm primarily just comparing this to my previous 1080p HP monitor, and this one blows it out of the water, so I'm happy with the purchase!

I ordered these because telework requirements during COVID-19. My work laptop is a Macbook Pro (15" Retina, mid-2015). My external screen at work is a Thunderbolt monitor; however, it is stuck at work. So after a meeting where they told us 1. we could not go to get our stuff, and 2. no end is currently in sight, I decided to look for Macbook Pro compatible monitors. I wanted 4K to at least match the Retina resolution, while also being able to simultaneously not being too expensive. After a bit of looking on Amazon (and a competitor), I stumbled up this monitor (listed on both).The good:1. Value. The value for this monitor is ridiculous. 27", 4K60 (60 Hz) with the right cables. Price is great. Comes with DP and HDMI cables, and supports two (2) inputs each, so I can loop in my personal laptop or desktop and do split or picture-in-picture. Mine have no dead pixels or issues.2. Brightness. These screens are up to 350 nits / 350 cd/m2, and they truly are. The initial power on blue, and subsequent whites were so bright I had to turn down brightness from the default 90 to 60. But it's very vibrant.3. Compatibility. Like I had mentioned, I was looking for 4K monitors compatible with my Macbook Pro. And these are. The HDMI cable gave me 4K30 (30 Hz), but that wouldn't work for me. The motion was a bit jarring at times. Plus the MB only has 1 HDMI port. So I purchased 2 MiniDP-to-DP cables, and I have been working with both monitors at 4K60 since! Much more screen than I had at work previously!4. Ease of setup and packaging. They came in nice boxes, neatly packaged so that you pull it out horizontally and lift off the top styrofoam layer. You can even attach the base before lifting it off, all via 1 screw.The bad:Not really anything bad. I guess the worst part was I kept pressing where the power light is thinking it was the switch and the unit wasn't working. Didn't realize until I saw part of the instructions that the switch (and controls) are on back center underneath.No comment: I have no tried to play any games on it, but I imagine it'd be the same as any of the 60 Hz monitors I have. Probably a bit better with the SmartResponse feature. YouTube videos have been fine.I will probably wind up purchasing another one or two once I return to work, as I may bring these two into work--they are that good!
