Is the blender noisy?

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being the sound of water in the sink from a faucet turned fully on and 10 standing one foot away from a lawnmower operating at normal throttle, the blender is about a 3.5, maybe 4.0 if there is ice in it.

Confused. The description says plastic jar, but the reviews say it is a glass jar?

Hi...The black lower part is plastic..The canister/pitcher is a heavy glass..Its a great blender..heavy-duty....hope this helps :)
