Minwax Oil-Based Wipe-On Polyurethane, 1 Pint, Satin

Good product! Very easy to use and gives a smooth professional finish with no streaks. If you refinish furniture I highly recommend this.

I love this wipe-on polyurethane. I've been using it for 30 years. The round table and chairs, I did 30 years ago and it's still beautiful. I did the stairs from my garage into the house 10 years ago, and despite the heavy use (in and out many times a day with dog), they look the same as the day I did them. It is SO easy to apply, just wipe it on with a soft cloth! Way better than brush marks. And you can lightly buff it with a fine steel wool in between coats, as well as after the final coat if you wish. Three or four coats typically does it for me and it is so easy, takes hardly any time at all. You need to be patient, though, and let it dry thoroughly between coats. This is an awesome product! I just cannot express how much I love it.

Easy to use, works great.

This is great on many levels but does have limits. I had custom vanity built for bathroom and the builder did not properly seal (will leave that story out) I was told this would be easy way to add protection given it is in bath. I have used spar urethane for outdoor projects which is more effort and requires a bit more skill to apply correctly. Back to this. Pros- can literally be wiped on with rag, dries quickly, can be sanded between coats and applied again. No smell, easy to clean up and a good looking clear finish. All and all for most wood sealing projects it's great a other routes. The issue for me is it's lack of any real water proofing. Yes the water beads Abit but left alone it will leave a cloud mark under the coating which requires alot to remove. I expected etter protection but that is my bad. This is great for most wood sealing projects that won't be getting splashed much or if you will wipe when it does. A little goes long way so great value as well. Will add slight Amber color as well

I refinish vintage wood radio cabinets and previously had always used spray lacquer. An article in a handyman magazine persuaded me to try the Minwax Wipe On Poly, and I am so glad I did. It goes on so easily with just a small rag - no runs or brush streaks. A second layer can be applied after waiting a few hours and lightly sanding with a 220 grit sponge to create some grip for the new finish. Two coats of the satin product are sufficient to produce a protective coating with a nice soft sheen - nothing at all like the gleamy gloppy finish created by using standard poly. Just be careful to shake the can periodically while applying.

I love this satin wipe on polyurethane! I love that you shake the bottle to mix up the contents. I had another wipe on poly that required me to stick a straw (something thin that would fit through the opening) and stir gently. That was annoying! Also, I love that its ready for the second and third coats within just a few hours. The other brand I had remainded tacky for a while. With Minwax, after I was done with three coats, I used a 1500 grit buffer sandpaper and that took ALL the little bumps off and made it feel like butter! Also, I noticed this brand did not drip as it dried. I think its because it is thinner than the other brand I used and so what you wipe on is going to stay put. The other brand had a thicker consistency, so I wiped it on and then the heaviness of the polyurethane started creating little drip marks because it didnt dry as fast as Minwax. In the photo I attached, its hard to see because the pull out drawers are already installed, but there is a solid and even satin sheen. It feels and looks beautiful!

Älskar hur finishen blev på mitt köksbord! Slipade upp till 220, sen två lager med bets och tillsist två lager av Minwax. Det ser så mycket bättre ut nu än vad fabrik-finishen gjorde, känns mycket mer tålig med!

Couldn't find this anywhere locally, so I had to buy it here at an inflated price. But the product is great.
