Budgeting 101: From Getting Out of Debt and Tracking Expenses to Setting Financial Goals and Building Your Savings, Your Essential Guide to Budgeting (Adams 101 Series) Review: Straightforward guidance - I especially recommend this book to young people - as young as 17 or 18. The sooner we get control of our finances, the happier we'll be. It's a good reference book for anyone to keep on hand. I'm retired and several points no longer apply to my circumstances - like raising children. I read this book to help a younger relative get a handle on money management. Budgeting has always been easy for me. I wanted to use the advice of a 3rd party to assist our conversations. The one thing I disliked was the amount of investing info in the initial chapter on setting up a budget. I suggest that good info be in the investing chapter & that the reader skim that part until s/he has made up a working budget. I especially liked the part at the book's end that pointed to socially conscious investment help - a a younger person looking for investment options I frequently got blank stares when I asked for such choices. Glad that changed! Review: Read it - Anyway have one myself this a gift. If you actually read it and you’re not good with money or you need help it provides resources. Even if you are finically responsible it’s still had good things to know.

Good Read, Helps Those Focusing on Debt More Then Budgeting
Overall a great read. Although, I wish the book expanded on budgeting and emergency funds more. Does not talk about everything in great detail, but provides a good overview and review.

Small book, BIG Message
Worth the read; distills personal finances into digestible pieces. Almost makes it "fun" regardless of where you are at financially. Worth the read.

Interesante libro, que sirve para la organización de las finanzas personales mediante la creación de un presupuesto. Muchos tips valiosos. Aunque es la versión en inglés, es fácil entenderla y seguir los consejos.

For an American audience
I did like the book and above all, some pieces of advice I found extremely useful and put them into practice as soon as I read them. For that I must thank the Author. But being completely honest, there isn't much new, specially if you have read this kind of books. And last but not the least, the second half of the book is targeted to an American audience (401k, Medicare, etc.), so I am afraid I cannot relate or find it applicable. I am going to read further books from the author. She has an excellent way of explaining things and keep them simple. Thank you!

Not really what I imagined. I was hoping I could get some useful tips regarding how to budget properly but instead got a book that goes through the most basic prinicples of budgeting. The kind of prinicples that every person with a bit of common sense should know. Wouldn't buy again and probably wont keep.

This is the kind of book you want to gift to your teen or young adult. Heck, even adults could make use of this. It's a great intro to wrapping your head around budgeting. It's very beginner-friendly, and by the time you're done you're going to know exactly what you need to do to start budgeting for a more financially-stable future.

Great book, but it doesn't take in for account for people outside America. All the tools are based in America that the book suggests
