can you use this this on a 90 degree opening gate, on the outer circumference of the opening circle, or would you use a swivel castor?

I've got two of these and they work perfectly on the outer circumference of a 90 degree gate

Really great but please could you tell me the M diameter of the bolts? The 70mm ones supplied are too short. I need to order longer ones.

we needed longer bolts as well, fortunately son-in-law had a selection. We used a 9mm machine bolt and washer......the problem was drilling a hole through the wooden gate, not the actual bolts. None our drills worked...we used a hand drill.....but the gate wheel is a revelation. It works well.

How do you get the supplied bolts into the holes in the fixing with the spring in the way?

Remove the split pin, then you can remove the spring. It's easier to replace than you might think.

Can I ask do you have to release the spring to locate the bolt in the bracket?

You should not put the nut on the spring side as the bolt head slots in but the nut will not. Put the bolt in the bracket, push it through drilled holes in the door and put on nuts on the other side. The bolt will not turn as slotted in. You can change the height of the wheel by taking out and reinserting the pin through the spring according to the height you want
