Brilliant amp.
Cheap amp but amazing for the money. Good power output, takes 4 gauge wire so cheap to wire up compared to 0 gauge amps. Running 4 skar 8” subs with this and it’s pushes them no problem. Had it for a while, gets a bit hot sometimes so would suggest a fan mounted to it for good cooling! Fantastic amp

This amp is one of those “budget but actually hits” type of pieces. If you’re trying to get solid bass without emptying your wallet, it does the job. First off, the power is legit. Rated at 1200W RMS at 1 ohm, and it actually gets close to that in real use. It’s more than enough for a daily system and will push your subs hard if everything is wired right. The bass hits strong and punchy. Not competition clean, but definitely loud enough to feel it in your chest. Perfect for a daily driver setup. Now… let’s be real: The sound quality is average. It’s not trash, but it’s not some high-end SQ amp either. This is more about loud bass than perfect clarity. The amp also runs a little hot if you’re pushing it hard for long periods. Nothing crazy, but don’t treat it like it’s bulletproof. And like always with Skar, your electrical matters. If your voltage drops, this thing is gonna act up. It’s not forgiving. Cons: Sound quality is just okay Can run warm under heavy use Not built for abuse or competition setups Needs decent electrical to perform right Pros: Strong real-world power for the price Hits hard for daily bass Affordable and easy to find Simple setup, good for beginners Overall: If you want loud, affordable bass, this amp delivers. It’s not fancy, it’s not super clean, but it works and it hits. Just don’t expect miracles, and don’t wire it like a caveman. Treat it right, and it’ll treat you right.

After using only Sundown products for the last 7 years, it came a time when I wanted to build a budget build and Sundown was not in it. For years i've seen the massive amount of what I will now call 'propaganda' against this company which said it's products were terrible. Not only is that untrue, my experience is 100% the opposite in my limited time with it. The RP-4500 is as powerful as you would expect a 4500w rms amplifier to be, it has lots of power. For an amplifier that does not include an internal fan to keep cool, the beefy heatsink does a wonderful job even in hot sun of keeping the amp within temp on near clipping load for over an hour. Sound quality wise it is no different than the most expensive sundown amplifiers or the least expensive down4sound amplifiers, in my experience. Budget wise it provides one of the best price per watt ratios in the amp market right now. Very happy with this purchase. What I think could make this board better would be to include a clip indicator knob and maybe a cooling fan. A foam gasket around the back panel of the amplifier would be great to reduce vibration induced noise/rattle. Sundown audio amplifiers for example include this gasketing.

I’m running the Skar Audio RP-1500.1D on two Pioneer TS-A3000LS4 12" subs (4Ω SVC, 400W nominal each). Wired in parallel for a 2Ω load, this amp is rated 930W RMS @ 2Ω, which is basically perfect for this setup, and it absolutely slams. What I like: Hits HARD, stays clean: Bass is tight and punchy, with way more output than I expected from a “budget” mono amp. Easy to dial in: The onboard controls (gain/LPF/subsonic) make it simple to get the subs blended without sounding boomy. Remote bass knob included: Super convenient to tame it for everyday driving, then crank it when you want to show off. Solid build / practical features: 4-gauge power/ground terminals and protection circuitry give peace of mind once everything’s installed properly. Fits nicely in a tight space! Worth noting: Like any real sub amp, it rewards a solid electrical setup (good power/ground, clean signal, proper tuning). Once it’s set correctly, it just goes. If you want strong, chest-thumping bass without spending crazy money, this thing delivers. My two TS-A3000LS4s kick HARD on this amp and it’s been a great match.
