Simply the best! If you want a serious kick scooter. It doesn’t get any better than these.
I simply am in love with these scooters! I just recently purchased my second one. I got the Mg one this time. They are so much fun and good exercise and perform great. They are so smooth and efficient. They seem to glide forever with just a couple of kicks on level ground. They are very impressive. They are a fun activity as well as serious vehicle for commuting and a quick way to jump around town. They fold quickly and store away very compactly and are not terrible heavy to carry. I keep one in my car for when I have to park far away from my destination so I can use it to get where I’m going easily and have fun with a little workout in the mean time. I have never had any problems with my scooters. They seem very solidly made with great workmanship and high quality materials.

A purchase you will not regret!
This is my first scooter and I was really excited to receive it! It came out of the box ready to go and is relatively easy to fold and unfold. This scooter is very sturdy! My husband is super tall and over 350#. he got on it with no problems and it rolled fine. I took it with me to a conference and not only did I easily maneuver a large Convention Center, I used it to get to places that were miles away quickly and efficiently. The one thing I would say, that I have not seen others say is that I happen to be a very experienced roller skater (quads) and I have had no problems riding and balancing on this contraption. My husband who is not an experienced skater, said he felt uncertain on it and that it made him a little nervous. Of course, it rolls great on flatter surfaces, but it goes over bumpier surfaces all right as well. I did not run into any kind of wet pavement, but I'm sure it would have the same problems that roller skates do outdoors and that is sliding. Standing in the right place takes some getting used to, but you will be happy with the wide expanse of the plate that you stand on. Because it's so wide it's very easy to switch your legs for kicking off. The scooter's handle bar also comes up very high, which I am glad for and my husband who is 6 ft 9 in could maneuver it easily enough. I understand you're not supposed to put all of your weight on the handle bars, but they seem super sturdy to me if you need to do so here and there. My only complaint happens to be with the wheels and I have the same complaint for roller skates. Why isn't somebody manufacturing a wheel that is good on wet surfaces as well as dry Surfaces? Also, why not use a softer urethane that people can buy if they want to skate predominantly outside? These two things have more to do with things that roll in general. This is a great scooter and you'll be happy with your purchase. I did my research and from what I can tell, you really can't do much better! The only other scooter that happens to measure up seems to be the GoPed and the price for it is higher (ridiculous!) than this one and the hubs on the Goped wheels are not metal - not good if you are heavy. I did like the little rubber outdoor wheel, but the xootr was cheaper and you seem to get more for the money, especially with the good-looking design. The Xootr does roll very well and keeps rolling well with less pushing.

Very expensive but nearly perfect commuter/transportation in-town scooter
This is easily the highest quality push scooter on the market. The fit and finish are at least an order of magnitude better than any of their competitors. That said, this scooter also costs twice or three times as much as other high-end scooters that will serve you very well. The Xootr is definitely fast, fast enough to scare the inexperienced/old guys who haven’t done anything like this is a decade or more. But, it is important to note that virtually every push scooter in the $120+ is very fast. While Xootr claims that their cast aluminum wheels and low resistance bearings are the difference makers (and they are excellent), I find the main strength of this scooter to be its brakes. The Xootr front brake is a true paradigm shift in push scooting and the Xootr rear stomp brake is significantly better than similar brakes from other manufacturers. With the combined stopping power of the two, a rider can confidently, and safely, bomb big hills and roll through tight quarters at high speed. No other scooter that I have encountered comes close in terms of controlled stopping ability, but lots of current generation high-end scooters have excellent wheels and bearings. When you combine the superb braking capabilities with the extremely large and stable deck (I have had no issues with the deck rattling) you get a scooter that is truly a pleasure to ride. My only wish is that Xootr would tell their “team that usually designs race cars” that larger wheels are better wheels for scooters (regardless of how well the current wheel preforms in ideal laboratory conditions). Xootr wheels are beautiful, perfectly round, very low resistance and generally highly effective in real world use... but, the Razor A6 is faster, rolls as far or farther per kick, and covers imperfect pavement much more smoothly due solely to its ten inch diameter wheels. And, the Razor A6 sells for $116~ compared to the Xootr mg at $279. If Xootr were to scale up their perfectly true cast aluminum wheels to a 10” diameter they would have a product that no competitor could make a reasonable argument against. Conversely, if Razor were to build an A6 with a larger deck and a front brake the cost of the Xootr would become totally unjustifiable. Xootr is proud of their scooters, as they well should be, but after 20 years it is time to evolve just a little bit. The practical benefits of larger diameter wheels in real world use grossly outweigh any perceived downsides of weight, compactness, ground clearance, and etc. Anyone who tells you differently either doesn’t actually ride scooters outdoors, hasn’t tried a scooter with 10” wheels, or is stuck in some silly old dogmatic thinking. The Xootr is definitely the best scooter that you can buy, but the competition is closing in fast and getting it done cheap.

High quality and easy to use commuter scooter.
I've been using this to commute to college and it's been a very great scooter so far. You can feel how high quality the parts are and how it's well assembled. This is a very light scooter to carry. I always carry it with me into my classes and I barely have to exert any effort to bring it with me. It is relatively small enough that I can fit it under my desk or to the side of it without it getting in the way. The folding mechanism requires a learning curve as you must aim the front wheel perfectly with the base of the scooter in order for it to fold correctly. It took my a couple days to get used to it, but with practice I'm sure it will become one quick motion. I love the quick release button at the base when unfolding the scooter as it makes it so easy to unfold and go within seconds. As some users have mentioned, it can be rattly at times when going over bumps, but I personally don't mind it: it's actually a good safety measure as pedestrians are able to hear me coming. The front brake is a nice feature and combined with the foot brake, this scooter can stop fairly quickly. The front brake has a nice progressive feel so you won't accidentally lock up the front wheel. Some have complained about the bumpy ride, but let's be honest, I didn't buy this for comfort. It doesn't have a suspension of any sort so why would I expect it to ride smoothly over road imperfections?? They even claim that this scooter performs best on smooth pavement so don't expect this to glide over potholes. If you need a scooter that can do that, get one with a suspension. Just know that suspension scooters are much heavier. However, on smooth pavement, this scooter glides with ease and can go pretty fast. Overall, I'm very glad with my purchase and I can't wait to continue using it everyday!

Gamechanger for Big Guy
I rarely write reviews--mainly because I'm too busy. But, I'm just going to say this--I should have purchased this before. I'm 287 lbs, fat, 6'-0", use mass transit daily to go to work (in Los Angeles....yes, Los Angeles). I would use my bike before, but it's pretty clumsy to get on and off the train, up/down stairs, etc. I just got my Xootr, and I have to say that this is a gamechanger for me. It's light (for me), easy to bring on the train, easy to fold up (once you get the hang of it), and extremely sturdy. For a larger guy, the Xootr isn't that heavy (which helps because I always carry a heavy backpack to work). It's easy to maneuver. Granted, you do feel the sidewalk bumps (but it's not that bad), but it's all around a pleasant transit. I just used my Xootr in transit from the metro station to my home (normally that would be 15-20 minutes to walk--and it took me 4-6 minutes on the Xootr. I'm not saying that this is a best for everyone, but for my life (transit of 21 miles back-and-forth with the last half-mile on the Xootr or back from the station to home), the gym, and just getting around. Even in this short time I've had the Xootr, it has really improved my quality of life (especially for a bigger guy who would never get on a skateboard because of balance issues). The front and back brake work well and help with the terror of going at a decline (just use your breaks before you zoom too quickly out of hand). Of course, the wheels might need replacing eventually because of my weight and sidewalk (and I'll get that done because I have to do the same for my expensive bikes), but for now, I'm really enjoying myself. Thanks so much. I should have purchased this a long time before. It would have saved me a lot of annoying of transit with my bikes.

Great scooter but ...
The good: I am 225lbs plus the weight of my bag another 30 lbs - I am a daily rider which I use for commuting I had it for almost a year - it works great if you need to jump on a train or bus - folds up nice. The material is very strong, it can be a bit heavy going upstairs but not that bad if it's only a few flights- but keep in mind it's a bit heavy because it Cast aluminum and can hold a lot of weight - The bad: When it's cold - below freezing 32 degrees - the folding pin sticks it can be difficult to press down so you can fold the scooter - but in the summer it works great very easy to press down. keep in mind most people will not use this in winter - I use Xootr simply because it's apart of my daily tranportaion and needed a high-end scooter. Overall: I love the product it is for daily use which is engineered to be. I can see and feel this will last years to come.

Perfect for a Big Guy like me
I bought my XOOTR MG scooter a week ago from Amazon. I don't know how I ever lived without it. It has made my daily commute so much quicker-- and tons more fun! I use my scooter to get to and from the bus stop, which can be a fair distance around here. Several times already I decided to forgo the bus altogether, in favor of an impromptu 20- to 30-minute workout session with my scooter. When they say this scooter is sturdy, they aren't kidding. I am a hefty person, and it supports my full weight with utterly no hint of structural strain or reduced speed. (I hasten to add, I got a gym membership a month ago; that, plus an improved diet, plus my XOOTR MG scooter will no doubt reduce my weight in the weeks and months to come. Wish me well.) One other person expressed concern that the ride is noisy. I'll allow as that may be the case. But I believe the folks at XOOTR are dead right when they say shocks or springs would bring only marginal improvement, while adding to maintenance complexity and unit cost. For me, the ride is at least as smooth as inline skates, which I have always enjoyed with nary a complaint. If you have no experience riding a kick scooter, I think you'll be pleased to discover that the low platform and sturdy construction will make you feel quite confident in a very short time. As long as you remain ever attentive to pedestrians and motorists (above all the crazy ones!), you will likely derive great pleasure and satisfaction from owning this scooter. I know I have.

It looks good, but that’s about it. Huge disappointment
This scooter is a lesson in form over function. First off, the handlebars are waaaaaaaay too narrow. The scooter touts its 800 lbs weight limit, but has a handlebar width best equipped for smaller riders. I’m 6’2 280, and I felt cramped trying to ride the scooter, due to the narrow width of the handlebars. Secondly, the handlebars have NOTHING to keep them tracking straight while riding. There is a weak latch that is supposed to keep the handlebars up at the desired height, and facing forward at the right angle (dead center). It accomplishes none of those things effectively. I had to constantly raise the handlebars as I rode the scooter, due to the stem lowering by itself. No matter how tight you tighten the nut on the neck, the handlebars will lower on you. Xootr has NO BEAD to lock the handlebars in a dead center position, like on Razor scooters, so not only do the handlebars lower on you, they also throw the handlebars out of alignment. So the rider ends up spending the majority of “the ride” fighting with, and making constant adjustments to the handlebars. Lastly, there is NO kickstand included with this expensive scooter, NOTHING. There’s literally no kickstand. So when you are pulling up to a taco truck to buy a snack, you scooter has to be fully collapsed and set off to the side, or leaned up against something, or someone. Total hassle all the way around. Do yourself a favor and pass on this scooter. My razor A5 Lux is a fraction of the price of this scooter, and is better in every way. The Xootr looks amazing, but performs like crap. Sorry. I give it a 3 out of 10.
