Clonex is the best rooting gel for propagation. We use it in our plant lab down at the college. We often propagate California native plants for the BLM. This gel has increased our productivity and success. The powders are hit and miss. This gel is amazing.

You dip or paint this on with a small brush (or even a Q-Tip) on the end of your cutting. Put them in water if you think they root best that way, or soil otherwise. The roots grow FASTER than without this (or maybe they grow when they would not have if you didn't use it - I cannot, obviously prove this either way though). I can, for a fact, say this in complete confidence as I have tested it with multiple cuttings, and those with this ALWAYS sprout roots first vs. those that do not. It doesn't nessesarily mean it WILL root, it just makes it happen faster is all I can say. However, I beleive that it also can make a difference in the Root or Not department - I just have no way to 100% prove this without being able to time travel back to NOT put it on and see what happens. I know that I am more successful when I use it, so I do. Simple as that. And, seeing as it makes the rooting FASTER, your cuttings have LESS time to dry out, or get fungus/mold, or whatever - and fail. Hope this helps you out. Also, you might want to get some "Foop" too, and mix them together. This will give the cutting that extra bit of food when it does sprout roots so it doesn't starve to death either. Great stuff. Greater stuff when mixed with "Foop". Just sayin'.

This works great on some plants but I can’t seem to get evergreens to clone. Yes I’m using new growth green and bendable. But nothing. Seems to work better on regular flowing plants. I also got a clone machine to help grow trees

Well, it is the beginning of springtime again. This is the time to start cuttings. For years, I used a powdered hormone for cuttings, but I had some problems with the powder falling off the cutting when I put it into the soil. This gel stays on the cutting much better, so I am hoping for better results.
