A tale of funny bunny money for Rosemary Wells's bestselling Max and Ruby! It's Grandma's birthday, and Ruby knows exactly what Grandma would love-a beautiful ballerina box. Max also knows what she'd love-a scary pair of ooey-gooey vampire teeth. Ruby has saved up a walletful of bills, but as unexpected mishap after mishap occurs, money starts running through the bunnies' fingers.... Will they have enough left for the perfect present? Wells' adorable story is also a fun and lively introduction to early math. Review: What a cute book - A cute book, I ordered for a Pre K lesson on Economics using the KELS Standards. I love that it came with " bunny money" to photocopy and pass out to students. Great book about good choices, consequences and counting/math. Review: Funny Bunnies! - My granddaughter is 6, and she loves Max and Ruby. She was super excited to get this book, and she loves it. There are always lessons in kindness in every story. Great choice for little ones.

Educational fun
The story is great but reading the story after making copies of the bunny money pages was a fun experience. Now we use the bunny money as play currency for other games, too.

Kids like the story
It's a cute story and my kids enjoy it. My only issue is with the play money. I'd prefer real looking money to help teach my kids about money but I suppose the ones provided are good enough to teach the concept. The story does at least teach kids that you have to watch your spending or you may not have enough left for what you wanted to buy. Also teaches compromise if you don't have enough money to buy what you want in the first place.

there are no bad bunny books
As usual there's a lesson to be learned for both bunnies in this charming book by Rosemary Wells. Ruby as usual has the role of Damage Control agent as Max gets into more situations that require them to spend their precious dollars before they can even think of getting Gma's birthday gift. It also spurred the development of a board game that builds on the whole idea of getting, earning, and spending money and learning bits of trivia about famous people. We loved them both.

Fun way with money
I used this in my pre-school class and it was a fun way for the students to keep track of how much money Ruby and Max had. Good lesson wise spending and use of money. Deciding on what was a good choice. Good lesson on keeping some money in reserve for emergency. The class had fun adding and subtracting the money.

Great fun with lessons for young kids
We love the Max and Ruby books by Rosemary Wells. They are great lessons told simply with fun and silliness for very young kids.

Brilliant!
Max and Ruby go to buy Grandma a birthday gift. Max gets side-tracked and wastes some of the money. Grandma is still delighted with her gift. Very witty, structured tale. Also introduces the concept of money/buying etc and raises a useful topic with small children in terms of simple maths. A delighful story, and one of my children's favoutites.
