Super Tool 300 Multitool with Premium Replaceable Wire Cutters and Saw, Stainless Steel

I was first introduced to Leatherman products when I ordered the Wave a few months ago on a whim. Previously, I had been a huge Victorinox fan. My wave changed everything. I wore it every single day on my belt. I work as a grocery store cashier, so I didn't get many excuses to pull it out, other than to open a box of bags or to open up the self-checkouts to trouble shoot them. Occasionally, a customer would ask me to open a particularly tough package that their merchandise came in. Nevertheless, I had my eye set on the Super Tool 300, the beeftiest and manliest member of the Leatherman crew. My best friend's birthday came, giving me the excuse to ditch my Wave. He loves it and now wears it every single day. At the time, I had a hard time justifying the cash to acquire a new tool. I don't think I need to explain this to any other Leatherman fans, but I felt downright naked during the two or three weeks I went without one. Finally, I ordered my ST300. This thing is quite beefy, much larger than the Wave. I had owned a Core before returning it and ordering the Wave, but this one seems a bit beefier than the Core. The pliers are perhaps the most prominent feature. It's just like a full size pair of pliers. Just as comfortable to grip, too. The wire cutters are extremely durable as well. I cannot comment on the saw or the serrated blade, as I prefer to save them until they are absolutely needed, but the straight blade comes factory sharp and is easy to sharpen. There are three assortments of flat head screwdrivers, which might seem redundant, but can be quite useful. The largest one is great for prying things open. The philips head is a decent size and will fit most everyday uses. The bottle opener is completely useless as it will not fit any actual bottles. The can opener will work, but as with the saw and the serrated blade it is recommended to preserve them for when you really need them. This all being said, this is a great tool and recommended as an EDC (every day carry). Much tougher and more durable than a Swiss Army Knife (don't waste your time with these, Victorinox fans are either pansies or just don't know any better). The only advantage you'll find on a SAK is the bottle opener. You'll be much happier going American made with the Leatherman. Not to mention the Leatherman warranty support is amazing. Even if you abuse your tool, they'll replace or fix it within the 25 year warranty at their expense.. Try getting that from Victorinox. I snapped one of the blades on my beloved SAK years ago (as I would later learn, SAK blades are much softer steel than most knives) and they wanted the price of the knife just to fix it. No thank you. Stay American made, get a Leatherman. Get the Super Tool 300 unless you absolutely need instant access to the blades. I don't even really miss the extra few seconds to access the blades on my Wave.

I was very excited to receive my Super Tool 300. When I opened up my Super Tool 300 the first thing I noticed is it was covered in finger prints. Honestly it does nto bug me to much as they have to be handled during assembly but there QC should at least wipe them down before they get packaged. No point deduction for that though as in my eyes it is a minor detail. The first thing I did was open the tool up to see the pliers. They are quite robust and I am very pleased with the heft of them. I also love the replaceable wire cutters. I think Leatherman should start making this standard on all there tools with pliers. All the blades were sharp as most Leathermans come so no surprise there. All the tools are well made and lock up fairly well. The tools do "clump" when you deploy one but that is how the Super Tool 300 was meant to be designed. The blades are not meant to "clump" with the tools when you are deploying either the blade or tools which I find great as a safety feature and it is very practical. If clumping tools when deploying them is nto your thing than the Super Tool 300 might not be right for you. I am not a huge fan of "clumping" tools but it really is not a deal breaker for me in a multitool. I rather have a "clumping" Super Tool 300 than no 300. This tool is quite large and would for many be to big to carry on a belt every day. I find this more relevant when referring to the sheath that comes with the tool. While I knew what I was getting int he sheath department before I ordered they only provide the Super Tool 300 with two different HORRIBLE sheaths. The sheath that I received with my tool is to bulky and after it gets loosened up I have heard it will not retain you tool very well which means you have the potential to lose your tool. I highly suggest buying a separate sheath. I would suggest the LARGE MOLLE SHEATH that Leatherman makes and ships with some of there Military tools. You can buy it directly form Leatherman for $15 +shipping but i'm sure you could find it on Amazon as well. If you have a job that demands use of tools and you want a toolbox on your belt this would be a great addition to have with you. I would also suggest this to anyone that would want to carry this on a daily basis if the size is not an issue. If size is an issue there are MANY other Leatehrmans that I am sure will fit your needs. If you want a pocket tool check out the Juice Series. I highly recommend them.

I once laughed at people carrying multi-tools. Until I was given one by my father. I didn't laugh anymore. My current Leatherman Super Tool 300 literally changed my life. I found I used it everyday at some point and if I forgot it, I'd turn around, go home and get it. Having no 'tool' at the ready, just wasn't going to happen. I've got several of the smaller Leatherman tools, and they just sit in the drawer, while the Super Tool 300 is used daily. Sent one of the Wave's back because it was still under warranty, after I'd broke the knife blade...it wasn't repaired, it was completely replaced with a new one. So when my old Super 300 broke the tip off the pliers (pulling/wedging a pin out of a tractor jack), I didn't even think about sending it in for repair. Then I wore out the wire cutting inserts. Then using the screwdriver tips for leverage, they broke off... All the damage done was my own fault, not a design flaw of Leatherman. Thought for maybe a minute should I send it back for replacement, or just buy another. Seeing as this tool has gotten me out of serious jams, and been so reliable, couldn't see having it tossed into a garbage bin and a new one arriving. So, we got a brand new one. This one will find a place of honor in my shop. IMHO, the Super 300 is the pinnacle of Leatherman heirarchy. It's beefy, strong, and ready for anything. I stopped flying commercially after 9/11 because they weren't allowed on aircraft. IF I were dropped anywhere in North America with my Leatherman Super Tool 300, I have no doubt that I could survive, and even thrive. Worked in AK as an NPS Backcountry Ranger for a decade, and this Super Tool 300 was by my side every single day. Work and day off. On one patrol, I forgot it at a rest break, and didn't discover the loss for five miles. I backtracked across the high alpine tundra to the location, found it, and it was one of the best days ever. My only complaint with the old Super Tool 300 was the leather scabbards never lasted long, with daily use. Bought new leather scabbards on Amazon made by Leatherman, but they lasted maybe six months before being destroyed. Hopefully, this new cordura nylon case will last longer. If not, I've gotten use to buying third party scabbards. Would I buy it again? Yes, in maybe 20 years or so, when I wear this one out.

I have bought Leatherman Tools for years and I'm never disappointed in their quality. When a tool breaks, return it, they repair/replace it without question. I even purchase these as christmas presents. I use this particular tool between work and farm. I'm lost without it.

I own a lot of multitools and I firmly believe Leatherman is worth the money. You might be confused when you see a Leatherman for around $100 or more, then you see other multitools on Amazon for $20. "Why would I pay five times for a Leatherman?" Let me tell you. I have owned several cheap knockoffs and they tend to break right when you need them the most. I have spent over $100 on cheap multitools when I should have just ponied up a little more and bought a Leatherman from the beginning. Over the long term the cost is the same. A Leatherman is tried and true and you can count on the quality and reliability. You get what I'm saying. Now to the SuperTool 300. This tool is a beast! It oozes quality and durability. this thing will outlast me. I will hand down this tool (and all Leatherman tools really) to my children and it will probably outlast them too. Be advised the SuperTool 300 is big and heavy, but not really much more than the Leatherman Surge. I own both and I think the Surge is a little more elegant and refined and has more style, where the SuperTool 300 is a industrial and utilitarian. If the Surge is a BMW X7 large SUV then the SuperTool 300 is a Chevy Suburban. Both will do what you need them to do, it's a matter of personal preference really. Since I own both how do I use them? the Surge is my EDC daily carry. The SuperTool 300 I keep in my earthquake bugout bag -- I live in Southern California. I figure if there's an earthquake I might need a massive heavy duty utility multitool. But the Surge is my daily driver. You can't go wrong with either, but the price difference is substantial. My advice: do what I do and own a bunch of different Leatherman multitools. The quality is addictive.

I've had a handful of Leatherman tools, and this one is by far the biggest and baddest of them all. Some other reviews here are forever long, so I will try to be simple and to the point. PROS: . VERY strong tool, and I'm really hard on my Leatherman products. . Black Oxide Finish is holding up well, even though the surface layer scratches easily. . An abundance of tools in this Leatherman. Need an oddball tool?! Something in here would work.. . Dangerously sharp blades! The first thing I had the opportunity to cut was my finger. Works well. . File is high quality and doesn't wear easily. . Haven't had to change the wire cutters yet, but they seem easy enough to change. . Pliers are super strong. After they break in, one hand opening becomes simple enough. CONS: . Velcro that holds the knife in the sheath is weak, and doesn't last with everyday use. . Its heavy, but what do you expect when this much awesomeness is packed into a tool! . Ruler can be difficult to read against the black finish. . Some of the smaller drivers that are in between blades can be tough to get out. You have to be careful, or you can easily cut yourself if you don't pay attention. They haven't loosened up much even with regular use. The pros clearly outweigh the cons. The first thing I recommend is ditching the sheath. Being that this tool is heavy, I purchased a Maxpedition Sheath .. and it keeps the Leatherman snug against my belt to where you forget its there. Solid and incredibly strong, it contours to the shape of the leatherman and keeps it secure. UPDATE: The flat head screw driver tip snapped off on an easy to remove screw. My Klein driver removed it without a hiccup, so this is a bit disappointing. I now have to pay ten bucks to ship a four month old seventy dollar tool across the country. UPDATE2: Leatherman paid the shipping both ways, and repaired my tool within 2 weeks. No problems since, but i'm still cautious with the driver tips.

This Leatherman (Super Tool-300/831102) is already making my job as a comercial overhead door installer just that little bit easier. If you do the kind of work I do, I think you'll like what it can do for you, as well. My job requires that I work on ladders, sometimes very tall ladders. It also means working in some very tight spaces. That means I regularly find myself at the top of my 28 foot extension ladder, unable to strap on my tool belt, because of space requirements. So, it used to be that I'd be twenty feet up in order to do a simple thing, like adjusting limits, and find that I also needed to refit a few wires, retighten a few mounting screws, or other small extras. I'd have to extricate myself from where ever I was, clamber down, grab a pocket full of tools, and do it all in reverse. During the last week my new Leatherman has saved me many of these trips. Just today I had to rewire an operator, and trace a few wires that went through some waterproof connectors. Loosening up the cinch-nuts on the connectors was easy with the plier head, and they were about an inch wide, so the tool has both good grip, and the ability to open wide enough to do what I need. The stripper/cutters are just as easy to use as the ones on my $36.00 needle-nose pliers. They're actually sharper, and replaceable. As for build quality, I honestly can't find anything negative to say. It's built like the proverbial tank. Fit and finish is excellent. The plier head and replaceable cutter/stripper inserts were the main draw, for me, and I'm not disappointed. They're very well aligned, and built to take hard use. The fact that the tools aren't available without opening the handles really doesn't cause me any grief, at work. If I get a Leatherman for use outside my job (a distinct possibility), I might go for something like a Charge, with it's tools available without opening up the tool. But for heavy/work use, the Super Tool is everything I need, without the flashy extras. Not that I have anything against flashy extras, but they don't belong at work, where many of them may not survive. Not a problem with this Leatherman. The premium leather and nylon sheath is certainly up to the job of containing and carrying the tool, but wouldn't look nearly as pretty, after a few weeks on the job. I'm saving it for wear, outside of work. I bought the Leatherman nylon molle sheath, to wear at work. It's also very good at it's job of keeping the tool secure, and if I catch it on something the velcro doesn't completely open and dump my shiny new tool out, like the single snap on the premium model could. The only thing relatively negative I could say about the Super Tool is that I'd like to see a few of the tools exchanged for something more useful. I, personally, don't have much use for can openers, awls, or a lanyard loop. But that's just me. Perhaps others like those items. However, for a working tool (which this thing definitely is) I'd like to be able to order a version with, perhaps, a good full size quick exchange bit driver, in place of some of these. There may be an adapter that will slip over this tool's excellent phillips head, to accomplish this. Not sure if that works with this model, or not. It would be nice, though, to have it internal to the tool. But, again, that's just me, and it seems that Leatherman is doing just fine without my input. As a certain very popular gear reviewer on YouTube is fond of saying, your mileage may vary. Bottom line; this Super Tool-300 has impressed me enough to guarantee that I'll be buying other Leatherman products, in the future. It's worth every penny.

このスーパーツール300は、届いた瞬間に「重ッ！」って思いました。 最初はボディーやツールの黒が手につきます。しかし、グローブを着けながら作業が簡単にできるので、グローブを着けながらの作業をオススメします。 各ツールはWAVEのようにプライヤー部をたたんだまま引き出す事はできませんが、たたんだ状態がゴテゴテとしておらず見た目がスマートです。 プライヤーは、ネジや真鍮釘をパチンと小気味良く切りました。テレビの太めのコードもジョキっとキレイに切れます。 鋸は小さいから使わないだろ？なんて思っていましたが、庭木の剪定の際に鋏では切れない太い枝をガンガン切り落としました。 波刃は紐を切る際にとても役立ちました。 大体の事はこのツールでできます。それに、デカイデカイと友達に言われるのですが、私はこのくらいの大きさでないと持ちにくいです。重さも苦になりません。 ただ、個人的にはFUSEのようなハサミが欲しいです。ナイフがあればハサミは要らないと思っていましたが、何かとハサミが欲しい場面に遭遇するのです。ここは見た目のスーパーツールか、機能性のサージかがわかれる所だと思います。私はスーパーツールを推しますが( ￣▽￣) ちなみに、スーパーツールの小さい版にREBARというのがあります。(友達が使ってる)リーバーは機能は問題無いですが私は大きい物のほうが使いやすいので.... また、鋸や波刃のブレードの形はスーパーツールの方が格好よかったのでこちらにしました。

The Super Tool 300 is the best of a fine brand. The cutting tools are a handy addition and the pliers are the strongest. I would choose this as the best though I prefer the different colour schemes of other Leatherman tools. This one is simple chrome and the only alternative was a "blacked" look. This is highly functional but watch those blades, they are sharp!

Excellent product. I would gladly recommend it to anyone.
