How do i get the camera to record jpeg images not just avi files?

I’ve not figured out how to do this yet, but I personally set the play back speed at one frame for second, and hit print screen at the appropriate time in the video. This is the only real problem with this camera, that it really needs an option to actually save time lapse images, not time lapse video.

No, otherwise your best option would be cctv. Brinno is a low energy consumption time laps camera not for live streaming purposes.

How do you retrieve the images? You have to climb up and get the sd card? Is there an app available that wirelessly connects and provides status?

Yes, you will need to pull the micro SD card out. However, since the battery lasts for a year you wont need to check it too often
