Solid Brass fids, enables handy reconfigurations using removable, interchangeable extensions...
First, I should say that I do not create paracord bracelets I work mostly in large to very intricate leather projects, and occasionally have to work on various types of “ropes” for equine & marine use. I have a pretty substantial collection of fids and marlin spikes of all sizes and materials ranging from plastic to aluminum, marlin, and even wood. Some of the fids In my pile I have made myself, others have been purchased. (I have been at this for many decades.) ;-) With that said, I can tell you I know from experience that these TACAMO fids are well made, and well thought out! * I like that they are solid hard brass. - This practically eliminates corrosion (if used in salt water, be sure to rinse with fresh water before drying & returning to case). - Brass is strong and won’t break as readily as aluminum, wood, plastic, or some other materials. - Brass gives them a good weight that helps when you have to drop the line so it can unspin itself to avoid laying a twisted line. - Brass always looks good! Seriously though, you can smooth or polish brass pretty easily if you get any unplanned dings. (I’ve already polished my set because for my use they must have a nearly mirror smooth finish to avoid any scratching of the fine leather I use.) These fids do come with a thin film of oil that must be washed off with soap and water when you first get them. When I finished getting mine smooth, I protected them with a light coat of wax which also helps the fids glide through tight bites easier. ;-) I like that these were designed with interchangeable extensions to allow you to adjust their length to the bite at hand. I also think the knurling on the extension pieces can be very helpful, but they could also scrape your material as it brushes through a particularly tight bite, or knot. For this reason, I wish they would have included one each smooth extension, but I also know this would force the cost to be higher. I could buy a second set and file off the knurling thereby giving me a smooth set and a knurled set... hmm... have think about that. The leather case is a nice touch and helps to keep the set together. I just used these fids to restring the leather “shoe lace” in a pair of my Sperry boat shoes and they worked out perfectly for that as well! All right, that’s my review, I hope it has proven to be of use to at least one person. I’ll return and update it if I stumble across anything useful to this community.

"Professional" is an apt term for this set!
I think this is an excellent kit! I have the Knotty Boys needles that I've used in the past; and they are fine; but they are fairly big. This is compact and tight, the pieces are MUCH better made, AND the kit has a hot paracord smoother included! The pieces are very rugged, and you get a nice spread of cord sizes, which I love, because I have three sizes of cord in my go bag. A lot of people don't realize that there are different diameters of cord, and it's good to have needles that can accommodate them. The needles work in the same way the others do, so they are just as easy to use as any. And they come in a well made pouch that protects them and keeps them together. I've got it tucked into the interior pocket of the single project yarn carrier that I use to hold my paracord stuff. I think it's perfect....the only change I'd make is to add one additional milspec paracord round needle as an extra, since that is my most used size cord; but that is merely a bonus, certainly not a negative at all. I love it! Don't think on the price.....if you bought separate pieces of lesser construction, you'd be past halfway there already without a good pouch and occupying more space.

Great little kit
Love the design and ease of use. Love that the fids unscrew. Many times I need a shorter did to finish my work. One thing I don't like is the lower half is gnarled and can snag on my tighter weaves. Overall though, I'm very happy with the kit.

Amazing Product & Customer Service
First of all, I love this fid set. The handles are knurled so it is easy to get a firm grip when using them. The fid needles can be shortened by unscrewing them to fit the size you need. Small or full size. The leather case is amazing and will keep these solid brass beauties nice and secured. However, these knurls sometimes are hard to pass through in tight weaves. You have to twist and push to get them through. The customer service is above board. They follow up to ensure that you are satisfied with your purchase and to address any concerns. This is a veteran-owned business and as a Veteran myself, I am proud to buy American!! I will be going through them for all my Paracord needs due to their superior products and awesome customer service!!! You will NOT be disappointed buying from this company. 5 Stars!!!!

Worth its weight in gold
So, I've had this for some time now and finally got to use it. I like the leather case. It feels and looks nice. The lacing needles are well made and solid. I really like that I can choose the length of the needle (short, normal, or long) I also like that you get to choose a needle with the best tip for your project.

Busted
I do larger than normal Paracord projects, very tight Solomon's knots, long Turks head handles, i.e. The product really looks good and the design is great but the first project I broke the Fid, Soft Brass.

Very nice kit when you buy it.
Nicely made pieces, quite easy to use and the extension handles are a great idea. The fid shapes are good too with some flattened, allowing entry into a tight know without stressing the cord. They come in a nice leather pouch to keep them together which is an excellent touch. However, Brass is soft and unless the two pieces are tightly screwed together, the fids snap easily. If you buy them, superglue the two pieces together before using. The 4 smallest ones in my set are useless and broken despite me working soft cotton rope of 1/8" thickness in a turk's head
