Advertised as “Mr. Smith goes to Washington.“ If you look at the picture of the cover – much more carefully - it is titled “Mr Smith Gent Mach Washington.” It is in German.

This is a wonderful classic totally different than most filmed today. Why? Because you see a very rare quality of values and ideals our current society seems to have tossed in the trash. I'd recommend it to at least show kids or grandkids....they may laugh at the B&W, the lack of special effects but it might also teach them something that will last a lifetime!

This movie is not well identified. It is in German, but that's not mentioned in the description unless you look closely. Very annoyed about this - I've waited a couple months to get it and then I discover it's in German. That needs to be made clear.

Could not watch due to would not work on my dvd Player.

This was deceptively advertised as 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington'. The title on the DVD case which looks exactly like the English version graphically, is 'Mr. Smith geht nach Washington'. It is a German version that will not play on DVD players in the US.

Didn’t like it at all. Put dvd in 4 different players and it would never play. After waiting so long for dvd and then not working when you get it, I’m not sure I’ll be getting dvd s from Amazon again. The whole experience sucked

The movie would not play at all so I would like my money back on it and as you can see I ordered this in December and just now received it I am more willing to send it back

Insgesamt ein guter Klassiker, mit sehr guten Darstellern wenn auch manchmal etwas ziemlich infantil agierend.Ich habe hier sicher keinen komplizierten Politkrimi erwartet aber die Story ist ziemlich einfach gestrickt, ohne das man groß nachdenken müsste weil das was in längeren Dialogen an Story vermittelt wird, wo man etwas mitdenken müsste, nochmal am Ende kurz zusammengefasst in einem Satz komprimiert wiedergegeben wird - diese Holzhammer Methode hätte man sich wirklich sparen können oder hält man den Zuschauer wirklich für so "dumm" dem nicht folgen zu können ? Heute mag das vielleicht so sein aber damals auch schon? ;)Hier finde ich wäre etwas mehr Ernsthaftigkeit besser gewesen und würde den Film auf ein anderes Level heben. Grundsätzlich mag ich James Stewart sehr als Darsteller aber hier stellt er sich teils wirklich schon zum fremdschämen trottelig und dümmlich an und auch manchmal ist zu viel overacting im Spiel.

Pünktliche Lieferung, einwandfreie Verpackung, auf Wikipedia gibt es übrigens eine hervorragende Zusammenfassung dieses Films. Klare Kaufempfehlung für Liebhaber von Film-Klassikern. Interessiert man sich allerdings tiefgründiger für dieses Rechtssystem...eine wahre Fundgrube an Erkenntnissen (bezogen auf die Gegenwart).

Toller Film !

Beim Schwartz-weiss Film merke ich keinen Unterschied ob 4K Master oder nicht.

Wer gerne alte Filme sieht, dem gefällt dieser Film bestimmt.James Stewart noch sehr jung! Bewegend! Wirklich sehenswert dieser Film.
