Sharky Baitfeeder III Spinning Reel 10+1 Shielded Stainless Steel BB - Carbon Fiber Drag for Live Liner Bait Fishing Action

I bought 2 of the Kastking baitfeeder 3000 just to try them. I paired them with my old Penn Allegiance 7’6” inshore rods. The pairing looks perfect and their colors compliment each other like a perfect match. I have had several baitrunner reels from the older Shimano BTR to the newer Baitrunner D and OC. I also owned several Okuma Avenger baitfeeder, Okuma Salina baitfeeder, Okuma Coronado baitfeeder and Okuma Trio baitfeeder as well Daiwa Sealine Black baitfeeder. There was also a Tsunami baitfeeder. So, that being said I am not new to baitrunners. I pretty much sold everything except my Shimano Baitrunners. I currently have a total of 20 Shimano baitrunners of different sizes. So, back to the Kastking Sharky III baitfeeder. Appearance wise this reel IMO has very attractive cosmetics. I like the shiny black and red colors much more than the Penn Fierce and Daiwa Fuego LT. The spool appears to be machined nicely. I don’t care much about the extra spool but others might find it useful. There’s a lot to like about this reel. The bail wire is thick, the drag clicker is loud as well as the baitrunner clicker. The baitrunner clicker is the loudest among all the baitrunners that I owned. The Shimano Baitrunner OC is the quietest of all. The handle knob is very nice unlike the Shimano 4000 and the OC which I replaced all with Gomexus power knobs. I don’t feel like replacing the Kastking knob at all as by itself it looks nice and is comfortable. I don’t like the way the baitrunner switch is designed. It is like the old Shimano baitrunners as well as most Okuma baitrunners. In my opinion the direction to engage the baitrunner should be like cocking a pistol. I need to get used to that and keep it in mind that I have to flip forward instead of backwards. I also don’t like the design and quality of the baitrunner adjustment knob. It feels like it’s going to breakdown sooner. The reel is light and has very smooth retrieval. I don’t like the handle attachment because it’s not a screw-in. The handle is reversible. The line lay tends to concentrate at the middle. This is the best it could do after subtracting/adding shims. I ended up going back to the 2 shims that it came with. This reel will be used for light to medium fishing targeting fish that are no bigger than 10 lbs so this should hold up and serve its purpose. I will update this review after I use these reels a few times and I will comment about the drag and flex etc. But for less than $50 each, if this lasts a year it’s all worth it.

Excellent reel. I recently bought a 3000 series with the bait feeder and brought it to the beaches of south Louisiana. I was able to wear out and bring in a 35-inch redfish with this model on a 7-foot Ugly Stik catfish pole which is thicker bodied, like a surf pole. I would recommend a larger model if you need to man handle a big fish away from structure but the 3000 was great in the open bay I typically fish and had plenty of strength to bring in the fish after wearing it out with the drag. The 3000 reel itself is small but mighty. It may not have enough weight to balance a 8-ft or longer true surf pole so you may need to go bigger depending on how you fish. I had the pole in a rod holder on the beach and the clicker is loud enough to hear over the waves. I fished normally with one pole but would listen for the Sharky to click. The dual drag was great to set just enough to not allow the bait to get moved by the waves yet allow fish to swim long enough run over and set the hook.

I went looking for a quality reel for my new custom rod, & I found this reel on here figuring it would be cheap due to the affordable price point. Most reels I have found in my price range were good, but I was advised by the rod maker (who happens to be family) to only get a 3000 series & no more... so everyone I found was out of my price range except for the low end models which, let's be honest, don't hold up as well as their pricier brethren. But after watching some reviews, I decided to pull the trigger & go with Kast King. I am so glad I did because what I got felt way more solidly built & crafted than I gave it credit for. I put that on my new rod, & though I haven't caught anything yet... I can say that it's lightweight design is a perfect fit to match the very light rod it is paired to. I can't even tell sometimes that the line is coming off the reel without visual confirmation! it was the best fishing purchase I've made so far (for a beginning angler), & I definitely intend on getting all my reels from them going forward! We own several of these reels because they are smooth and strong and have a handy baitfeeder feature for carp or ocean fishing. The build quality is excellent and the drag is smooth and powerful. Even after many fishing trips they still work like brand new. KastKing makes some of the best reels for the money, rivaling reels that cost considerably more. Excellent.

I have used this reel in both freshwater and saltwater This reel feels very solid and has been a solid performer. There is no slop in the handle or drag. Both the cranking and the drag are smooth. The bait feeder is loud. Both the front and rear drags click, the anti-reverse bearing has no slop or play. The handle is reversible to either side. I feel its important to mention this as there are a couple reviews that say the handle is not reversible. When you remove the handle there is a small plastic plug in the side that had the screw, you must remove this plug to swap the handle. Also there is at least one review that says the handle is plastic, which his not true, it is aluminum. So I bought this because I wanted something capable of saltwater fishing. It is heavy, feels like a brick when attached the balance is way off on my medium rod. It felt smooth with out anything resistance on it didn't want to use it when I knew I would return it. it may be good for some people, but I could not see using this thing for long periods of time. I want something I can fish all day with.

カストキングのリールは通算で４台目 品質に対してコスパが良い 赤と黒でカッコいいデザイン ハンドルもラバー製で割れの心配もないし 操作性も良し メジャーなメーカー品にこだわらない人にオススメしたい。

使用中のリールが古くなってきたので 同価格帯のリールの中からこちらを購入 予想した以上に良いリールでした。 巻き心地も滑らかで、デザインも◎ 次回の釣行がとても楽しみです。

チヌの置き竿 ぶっ込み釣り用に3000を購入しました、 中々良い感じです ただフカセ釣りには重たいですね ひとランク下の小さいサイズ2000位があれば手持ちでもいけるかも、 私は右ハンドルなので付け直しましたが 説明(分解図？)書が英語だし日本語の付け替え方などの表記が必要です 耐久性はまだ使い始めなので 不明ですが、

先程届き、まず見た目がとてもカッコよくて気に入りました。回した感触もとてもスムーズで良いです。予備スプールは素材が違いますが、予備なので問題ない感じです。右巻きに付け替えたし、ラインを巻いて早く釣りに行きたいですね。
