## Description

The Earthquake Sound CP-8 Couch Potato is a down-firing powered 8-inch compact special applications subwoofer designed to deliver deep and precise bass right at your sitting position. It features a premium 8-inch long-throw woofer with a built-in high-efficiency class AB amplifier that produces up to 300 watts of peak power. The woofer features a durable, lightweight pressed paper cone with a wide Santoprene surround and a 2-inch voice coil that ensures low distortion and long-lasting performance. The CP-8 amplifier is equipped with a variable crossover and phase control to adjust the sound to your listening preferences. The crossover allows you to set the subwoofer's frequency range from 40Hz to 120Hz, while the phase control lets you align the subwoofer with your main speakers for optimal sound quality. This subwoofer is easy to install and connect with any speaker system; whether watching movies, listening to music, or playing games, the CP-8 will transform your listening experience with its dynamic and immersive sound. Because the CP-8 is only 7 inches in height, it allows for unique placement possibilities, such as underneath or behind sofas, beds, and other furniture. It can also be placed on its side and in between the back of the couch and the wall making it a versatile option for home theater systems. By placing the subwoofer closer to your sitting position, the bass is faster, more powerful, and carries massive subharmonic vibrations that all home theater enthusiasts can appreciate. A sizeable 3-inch port at the long end of the enclosure lets you direct bass out from under a couch or bed without losing precision and energy, which provides a high output of the lower frequencies. It gives the robust woofer optimal working conditions, resulting in a strong and accurate bass response. With incredible versatility and a slim form factor in mind, the low-profile CP-8 offers flexibility and concealment without sacrificing precious floor space. It will quickly become an indispensable fixture for your home theater system, allowing you to add outstanding bass to unused space. If you are looking for a subwoofer that delivers high performance, low distortion and is placement friendly, look no further than the CP-8 Couch Potato by Earthquake Sound.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: It has no lfe input. would work welll with just 1 rca in the left input as others ?**
A: Yes, you can just run a cable from LFE out to Left in. Since your receiver is already filtering high frequencies from the LFE out, you don't need to do so in the subwoofer, so you might want to turn the crossover knob to its highest setting in the subwoofer.

**Q: How tall is it without the legs inserts? Can you use the sub without them as well?**
A: It is 7 inches tall and to get the best effect you must use the legs as there is a downward pointing speaker.

**Q: What is the height on the unit including the feet?**
A: The feet are approx. 3 inches but they fasten to an inset, so I would say add an extra 2.5 inches to the height to be safe. Also, I believe the rubber feet could be cut if needed, as the screw in the feet sits closer to the base of the box than the floor. I use my box on it's side, resting on cork board and do not use the feet.

**Q: This is a 2009-2010 model. do you think it will do well the job with a denon 2017 reciever and a 5 hifi speakers 2014 models ?**
A: Yes. I have an older Denon AVR 1911 but I don't think a newer Denon would have any problems. I wasn't sure about the CP8 but it sounds great. I have it connected to 25 ft cable that goes underneath the house. Enjoy.
