## Description

Cure damp, musty basements through automatic ventilation. Reversible fans can be positioned for 100% exhaust, supply or for balanced air exchange. Runs on only 40 watts compared to 1,000 watts consumed by a typical dehumidifier. Installs in a 5.25” x 12.25” cutout through a rim joist or wall. Includes screened exterior hood and Dehumidistat control with individual on/off switches and 6 foot power cord. Also works well for sealed crawl spaces, garages and to freshen seasonal homes.

**Q: What are the CFM? and dimension for install**
A: Bob,  The CFM (from the manufacturer's web site) for the XD2 is 180 CFM (both fans operating). The unit installs through the rim joist of 16" on center or greater floor joists or through a wall.  We have had very good results from our installation. Good luck!  - John

**Q: Does this "exchange" the heat or cold in the air like a hrv/erv?**
A: Rachel is right.  It only sucks fresh air in or blows stale air out. Fans are reversable so one can be bringing fresh air in while the other is exhausting.   Does not separate inside and outside air like a heat exchanger.

**Q: What is the noise level of the fans and motors? How does it compare to a bathroom fan?**
A: depends on the location, installation and how loud your bathroom fan might be! mi productis under the house in the basement with insulation and it is much quieter than my standard bathroom fans.

**Q: Do you need a vent cover for the exterior? It looks like there's a hooded cover on the outside, but what about some sort of screen to keep bugs out?**
A: This air exchanger does come with a vent cover and a removable screen to keep out insect and mice and other varmits
