And does it protect against scratches or just strictly water resistant?** A: I put on two coats on two different cars, properly prepped, and I waited 24 hours for it to cure before putting a second coats.... on both cars it only lasted about 3-4 weeks... I'm pretty disappointed by the durability of it. Everyone who seems to be giving this 5 stars seems like they just put it on, sure it's slick on the first week and I was excited too(then again any decent wax will last the first week). **Q: Can I use this over vinyl wrap?** A: Yes, CMX works great on vinyl wrap! **Q: Any one use this on top of black wax? i have a older vehicle with minor scratchs that i cover with meguiar's black wax, then put high gloss wax over.** A: I have used this product for over 2 months now and it works excellent for a starter ceramic coating. I have used this and waxed over it after it cured and i have done the opposite cleaned car then waxed and then sealed that ahine look under this cmx and it worked just fine. As it states it can be used alone as protecting coat or you can use it as a topper over a shiny waxed or glazed car. **Q: Can this be used on painted ceiling fan blades, without damage? Seems like I end up with far fewer water spots between washes than before and things bird droppings seem to be much easier to remove and don’t seem to etch the paint at all if left to sit for a day or two.I have two complaints with the product, however both could have been user error.Firstly, the product seems to buff off in a sort of thick dust. I could have been using too much or could have let it dry too long I’m really not sure. However, this caused me to leave some pretty serious swirls in the paint because the microfiber I was using clogged up with dry product so quickly. I would reccomend switching to a new microfiber OFTEN to avoid this happening to you. I caught it after the first panel so it wasn’t a very big deal.Second, I have noticed that even after a few weeks of rain and 4-5 washes that I keep finding little white bits of what I believe to be clumped up product built up on the paint. They need to be buffed off with a surprisingly aggressive compound or they just won’t go away. I think this also may be due to me possibly applying too much product and/or not removing it fully.On my vehicle I applied two coats, separated by a week or so (directly after washing the car) and I’m happy with the results. I think more coats would be very beneficial. In the future I will probably stick to using traditional wax as it is what I’m more familiar with however the CMX definitely beads water SLIGHTLY better and bugs, bird droppings, and water spots are MUCH easier to remove with the product applied.Product is a great value, however I think better instructions would be very beneficial because I believe many casual customers (the target audience for a product such as this) will more than likely apply it similarly to a traditional wax, which is definitely not the correct way of doing things.
