Some say that if you are dosing the water column that the Caps aren't necessary. Some say to use them with deep rooting plants like Swords and Crypts and Dwarf Sag, etc. I happen to squirt the Thrive+ in my tank twice a week and if and when I first plant a plant that has roots, I usually bury a Root Cap to jump start the roots. Did you happen to see the photos of the Crypt on NILOCG.com website ? He does a comparison of his Plant Caps vs. the Seachem Root Tabs and shows the difference in growth. Best to you in your decision. **Q: Is 2 inches to much for a carpet i see saying every 6 but i want them to grow in nice an thick?** A: Go with the reccomended dosage. Depending on how deep your substrate is and what kind this and other root tabs can leach out into your water column and if your dosing ferts in your water column you have potential for algae breakouts. Try with six inches first Waite a month and see. You can always add. Hope that helps. Or a couple days later, a weird greenish bubble will be coming up out of the sand. It's not a big deal, really, you just push it back down.Now I just squeeze them and bend them in half before stuffing them under the substrate. Gets most of the air out, lets a little water in easier - seems to help them stick.Otherwise, plant growth seems good so I keep using them.
