Review: Updated review - Original review below. So i got one of these from Ridge website and it was such better. Elastic didn't feel as flimsy. Not sure why. Updated to 5 stars because the product (from ridge website) is fantastic. So I'm not into minimalist wallets. But, my very high quality, handmade, exquisite leather wallet took a bath in chemicals when a faulty machine leaked on a job site. With some care, its fine. But I was looking for something that wasn't leather, that would dry quickly if that happened again. And something durable. Leather wallets worn in back pocket, tend to bend cards. I like that its metal and they include replacement screws, although i have to assume it's easy to loose screws or why include extra. The elastic for the cash strap seems flimsy. I don't often carry cash, so thats not a huge deal breaker. But, I looked up replacements for the strap on Ridge website and since they are available to buy, I'm a little nervous that they may not be part of wallets warranty... I'd have to check with Ridge about that. But if I lay the wallet down on the cash strap to avoid scratching the metal of the wallet, its pretty obvious that the metal on the cash strap will wear off the finish quick. The problem with Ridge is the same i see with Yeti. Quality products but prices that double competitors for basically the exact same thing. The metal construction seems high quality, but the elastic seems pretty thin. The cash strap elastic feels so flimsy. I rarely ever carry cash. But when I do, I don't want to loose it. And I question how well that will hold up. Additionally, for the money, I'd expect heavier duty elastic. This looks and feels like it will wear very quickly. Overall this is the third minimalist wallet I've tried. One was $20, one $120 and this was $70... the $120 Proof wallet felt the most heavy duty, lighter, and all around best of the 3... but it is half leather, and thicker than the ridge. In the end, I went with Ridge. But, even at $70... I feel this wallet is a bit overpriced.

**Q: What makes this better than an Altoids container?**
A: Functionally there are a few differences.
1. An altoids tin won’t press your cards together with enough force to destroy the mag stripe and your fingers. 
2. Something held together by the strap that holds your underwear up and costs $100 needs a lifetime warranty. An altoids tin cost about a $1 and is a heck of a lot easier to replace than dealing with the phone call runaround involved with trying to replace an item through a warranty.
3. Would you rather be falsely accused of shoplifting (disproven by the difficult task of opening the tin)? Or would you rather look like a tool while you fumble around with a gimmicky toy trying to find the right card?

Aesthetically it’s debatable, but people in general think that things that look cool, in turn make them look cool. Take a Ferrari for example, on a track it’s a wonderful thing. As a daily driver it’s just about the most useless thing on the planet. Who cares it your car can go 180 through a school zone? That doesn’t make anyone look cool, quite the opposite actually. Much like this wallet, which is a completely impractical pain in the -insert the word you know is supposed to go here- at the checkout.
But don’t think for one second that I am comparing this wallet to the near perfect engineering of a Ferrari. It’s quite literally two pieces of metal held together by the same elastic used to hold up your boxers. Who gives a hoot what kind of metal it is, its a wallet. I don’t need ballistic armor on my wallet, if you do then you probably have more pressing concerns than what your wallet is made of. 
A short answer would be that I could build this wallet in my garage for about 5 dollars and it would take me maybe an hour. But why would I bother when it’s less functional than a normal wallet?

A: Compared to the knockoffs on here that use cheaper quality goods? The price is higher because these are top-quality materials and there's a lifetime guarantee.

The Money Clip and Cash Strap are both good options, and the option you choose mostly comes down to personal preference! The Cash Strap is slimmer while the Money Clip can give you quicker access to your bills. The Money Clip has a single strong point of contact with the face of the wallet, while the cash strap runs along the entire length of the wallet.

**Q: In what country is the ridge made?**
A: The Ridge I received today was most definitely not made in the USA. Made in China. Too expensive if not supporting American jobs, in my opinion.

I was skeptical getting the wallet at first, but after seeing how many cards it can hold and it's build quality, I'm a believer. It holds around 12 cards for me at a time, I'm able to peek my rfid card out to badge into work. It has a little bit of weight to it, but honestly that's what makes it feel high quality.
