I am preparing to go to my first blues jam. As far as soloing is concerned, I am a beginner as you would expect, having only played for a few years. It is what it is, and I will do my best. However, when it is my turn to play the accompaniment, I am very concerned that I might mess others up or play the same old chords over and over again and even bore myself. Since I will spend most of my time playing chords at these blues jams, I thought it would be good to get a book like this one, so I ordered it. What a fantastic book. I even took it to my guitar instructor, who within 30 seconds was very impressed. I highly recommend this book. I am not versed in guitar/music enough to blab on about it in a technical matter, but just as well, it is awesome!!! I think that I should be fine at the jam within a month or two after using this book. Examples are good, explanations are adequate, and the fingerings also help. It is the proverbial Blues Bible. If your goal is to master classic electric blues accompaniment, I don't think a better book exists.The examples are all authentic rhythm parts you'll want to use in your playing. This isn't a book for total beginners. Its not too slow but at times it can get faster than you would like. It would be nice that if you had trouble with a definition or a explanation you could go on line for a more complete understanding. I bet soon at some point we will see that.
