Review: Almost Perfect Cane w/Seat - Bought it for partner after trying it on Costa Rica trip where someone was using it on our hikes. It weighs under 2 lbs. the seat is comfortable and can support at least 250 lbs. it comes with a very nice flashlight but I don’t know why. Also has a velvety seat cover that keeps coming off. But neither of those are necessary. The price was reasonable and it now makes our walks/hikes last a little longer. So glad I bought it.
Review: This is a great and handy cane/seat but I believe the weight it holds should be lower - This is easy to put together and adjust in various ways to your needs. As others have said, anatomy makes a difference. If you have a protruding belly where you carry all your weight, you will not be able to safely sit on this because you have to straddle it to sit safely and you risk not being able to get close enough to line up with the seat. If your higher weight is distributed throughout your body, this will work for you. The weight is good to use as a cane and carry around. I gave it 4 stars rather than 5 because I seriously question the weight this holds safely. The listing says 440 lbs - no way can you sit on this safely at that weight. I actually took this to a meeting and enlisted friends to “try it out.” Everyone had a body that allowed them to correctly straddle the seat safely, so it was just height and weight. Female 5’6” 145 lbs - felt safe and loved it Male 5’10” 172 lbs - felt safe sitting, thought it was good, but felt 20-30 minutes was max due to sitting in one position too long Female 5’ 2” 192 lbs - felt safe and loved it Male 6’ 3” 214 lbs - it was good to sit on but felt the cane part was not high enough to walk with, and the hand grip was too narrow for his hand Female 5’ 3” 234 lbs - it held her fine and felt safe as long as she didn’t move around much and she questioned the strength of the legs over time Female 5’ 6” 250 lbs - it held her but she felt it was too unsteady to safely sit on. Recommendation - lower the max weight to 250 lbs or lower. Realistically, I would say you are probably OK up to 220 lbs, but more than that, it becomes less safe and practical to use.

I got two of these. They are very light, and easy to carry. The seat is comfortable enough for a half-hour sit down. The three legs give adequate balance. It's kind'a weird to have the stem of the cane come up between your legs, but I found that I could hang my purse on it while I sat. Oh, if you're just standing somewhere, you can hang bags, purses, etc. on the handle of the cane. I got one with a light built into the handle, which has proved useful. The other cane had a light which could be attached to the handle but that didn't work out. Better go with the 'in-handle' light. Holds 275 pounds--amazing.
