I didn't understand why every said it had to be mounted to a junction box. And I couldn't mount it flat against a wall because of the copper ground screw that stuck 1/2" out of the back of the mounting plate. Finally had to have my son look at it and he removed the ground wire and screw and told me to just mount it, plug it in and it would work. I did. It did. And now I am pleased with it. I am using it as a picture light and it works really well for the 32" wide picture.
