## Questions & Answers

**Q: Hello. i am completely new to arduino. the tutorial from manufacture is confusing. is there a better one out there for this sensor?**
A: Yes get the 0-50000ppm sensor. This sensor depending on it's application is not the best. For instance I got this sensor to use for a green house controller. This sensor recalibrates itself every 24 hours. This calibration process at the 24 hour mark will report 350-400ppm as it has just calibrated itself and whatever was present prior as far as ppm is now the "normal." So essentially the sensor throws it's own calibration out of whack unless you aren't using it in a co2 enriched atmosphere. There is code from dfrobot to apply instant calibration and to disable the 24 hour calibration cycle. Hope I could help :)

**Q: Will this work sitting next to a humidifier? The sensor will be connected to a device programmed to keep the humidity at 95% by using a water mister.**
A: This sensor can be used for waterproof steam interference
However, it is not recommended to place directly in the humidifier outlet.

**Q: Is this acurate enough to control co2 tank solinoids in a garden room?**
A: Without some requirement detail about CO2 tank solonoids, I don’t know

**Q: Can this read CO2 from an algae culture?**
A: It can't read CO2 from an algae culture

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Analog output makes this straightforward
*by K***R on September 27, 2020*

Easy to use -- connect to 5V, 0V, and an ADC input and measure the voltage and calculate how many PPM of CO2 there is. I used an ADS1115 on a Raspberry Pi, but an Arduino would work just fine, as would most other ADCs. It is interesting to note that the concentration does vary, and is higher inside when windows have been closed for a while.

### ⭐ Toy sensor not meant for real world applications
*by J***Z on April 21, 2023*

Copped this to monitor CO2 levels in my indoor garden hydroponics garden. Sensor never provided consistent readings and was a bear to program. I am looking at purchasing a dedicated cater co2 Sensor monitoring system from a reputable manufacturer in the future.

### ⭐⭐ Works great if it works
*by T***N on January 24, 2020*

This sensor is the only one I havent been able to get a reading on for co2. The IR lights come on and it does recieve inaccurate input. I have another co2 sensor that does work great from the same company as well I believe that works great and I have a co2 sniffer device I calibrate it to. This one eventually burnt out on me and something got hot and fried during testing××××××I bought a second one. It works perfectly with my arduino nano and arduino Uno. It accurately releases CO2 into my greenhouse controlling a relay.
