I usually hike in mid height boots but decided to try these since they are lighter and take up less room in my suitcase. I actually bought some for my two teens also. The shoes arrived right in time for our week long vacation in Moab, coincidentally. Now I understand why these shoes are called Moab! They were perfect for all the hiking on rock and sandstone, no slipping ever. We were climbing on slot canyon walls like Spider-Man thanks to these shoes. Our feet were comfortable and no blisters after three 8+ mile hikes, as well as multiple shorter hikes. We didn’t test them in water since they aren’t waterproof. I will attest to their breathability and durability though! I can’t wait to wear them again on my next hiking adventure. I’m normally a size 10 in running shoes and that’s what I ordered in these. They fit perfectly and felt great with my mid-cushion hiking socks. I tried on the waterproof version of the Moab 3 hiking shoe and the size 10 was actually too short and tight in the toe box.
