The label lists no fragrance, but contains oil of clove, and the active ingredient is 8-hydroxyquinoline. I would describe the smell as vaguely medicinal. This product is less greasy than Bag Balm, which also comes in the old-timey 9 oz tin. I briefly tried Watkins "Petro-Carbo" (active ingredient 1.5% Phenol -- so like Lysol) for some first aid applications (cuts & scrapes), but it's a bit too strong for overall use. If you just have dry skin (hands & face anyway), I like Corn Huskers Lotion, which is available on-line and at CVS. The main active ingredient is glycerin, so it's not greasy, but it does contain a fragrance, which is very mild and vaguely resembles tea. **Q: I want to return this I was under the impression this was for humans but container said for animals** A: It was formulated for animals but works miraculously for humans.
