Unfortunately the port one on the side, was not allowing the commands to be sent to the camera and there was also a slight rattling within the housing that piqued my curiosity so I decided to open up the housing and see what was going on. As you can see in the photograph the port was not soldered to the board completely and that’s the reason why the port on the side was not working properly. As far as the rattle, the button pressed to record sits a little bit loose and as a result it jiggles just a little bit which was causing the sound that I heard. I’m gonna send this one back and order a new one, because, with the exception of the left port which I would’ve fixed myself if I had a soldering iron, not working, it functions exactly as intended. This one works just fine, used it for a bunch of hockey games. The biggest downside for me was the 90 degree connector - it is very hard to get a good connection with it because of my camera cage. I have to get it into the perfect position. Also wish it came with more detail on how to set the switch.. just had to play with it.
