## Questions & Answers

**Q: What windows drivers are required for this board?**
A: Arduino IDE 1.85 from Microsoft store will utilize STLink v2 & SDIO interface drivers published by ST-Micro. See Roger Clark Melbourne blogs and Libraries, etc.
This should be straightforward; however, DO NOT upgrade ST-Link's firmware thru Arduino IDE. Very difficult to impossible for STLink to be recognized by Windows following onboard STLink firmware upgrade.
Windows 10 driver signature is problematic and may require disabling. Further, use of Arduino IDE support requires that Java etc be installed onto Windows.
Installing Java, etc. Killed my installation.

Less elegant but potentially better to utlize ISP or USBASP thru serial port which requires Boot0 & Boot1 jumpers on board.. Note that F407 and F103 do NOT support Auto Baud Rate detection.
Alternately, USBASP 3v drivers from ZADIG 2.4.7; however the tricky part is to adjust COM port Baud to match 9600(default???). 115k or higher Baud rates do not work.
Matching the PC's USB baud rate to that of F407's various port baud rates. Highly confusing. Poorly documented. Refer to RogerClark Melbourne blogs for guidance.
Roger's F407 support appears dated, and F103 support is more recent (Great).
The literature suggest fewer problems using Linux (rather than utilizing Win10). Linux_MX18.2 is easy to install as best for laptops, rather than Win10 driver issues.

**Q: Is there any documentation? Schematics?**
A: No documentation came with the board. I contacted the vendor and they sent it to me by e-mail.

**Q: Is the schematic available somewhere? the pinout is not labeled for the jtag/swd connector or the lcd connector.**
A: Yes, I found it online by searching on STM32F407VET6.

**Q: Has anyone used stm32cubeide to program this board?**
A: I've not used STM32CUBE, but I've programmed it manually (typing code into an editor), compiling it with the same compiler that STM32CUBEIDE installs, and then programming it with st-flash. You should be fine.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars

    Great value - powerful board

*by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2018*

For just a little more than an Arduino (or less if you buy one from the original manufacturer), you can get a board that runs at 168 MHz and has 512KB of flash. This ARM cortex chip is programmable with Arduino software or other free tools, but you'll need an ST-LINK v2 device to program it. (These are about $7 - no big deal.).The manufacturing quality of the board is good - clean solder joints, solid connections, no bent pins, etc. With nearly 80 GPIO pins, you can handle even very large projects with ease. The built-in SD card reader/writer allows you to store data. This is a great value for someone who needs more power than an Arduino can provide and still needs the simplicity of a microcontroller board as opposed to wrestling with a full-blown operating system like on a Pi.Great value! HiLetgo does it again!

Board worked great. Delivered in two days. Pinout, schematics and documentation available on the internet.I like the fact there are Arduino libraries available to add OLED and TFT LCD and other devices to the system.Lots of IO pins and a fast processor. I used a ST-Link V2 to communicate to the device.Tried serial I/O and I2c interfaces and all performed well.
