    Does the job well.

I used this to cut through brick to run a new 4" dryer vent. One thing to consider when buying this core bit is that it does not have a shank so you have to buy one separately. To use this directly on masonry you have to support it with a piece of plywood that has a hole cut into it the same diameter as the bit to keep it still. You have to do this because unlike a wood hole saw it does not have a pilot bit to keep it from wobbling around. Once the bit has cut in about a depth of 1/2 inch, the plywood guide can be removed and you can continue drilling. You have to follow the directions on the box in regards to maximum speed, and use of a dust mask as it will generate a lot of dust. This bit will cut right through the hard brick but you have to take it easy and not get in a hurry or it will get hot and break the tips, and worse it could hurt you in the process.Overall very satisfied. This was for home use, so I am not sure how it would hold up in everyday commercial use.

    Well that went great, but...

*by B***9 on Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2017*

Cut great. My only complaint, isn't really a complaint... my own dumb fault, unless...I believe I either have deeeeep bricks, or I received the wrong size bit. And I found that out waaay too late. I believed the labeling, and begin drilling, only to realize that tit would not cut completely through the brick. No problem.... since I didn't have a pilot hole to bore completely through, I began to micro cut away at the core. Cutting the core down enough to try again. Success! Then upon dry fitting my 3" PVC pipe... wouldn't go in. Although it says 3 1/4 inch on the box, my 3 inch pipe didn't fit. Now, i understand mislabeling. It happens. But this was super disappointing. So buyer be ware. MEASURE THE BIT YOU RECEIVE.... just to be safe (and smart). :-(That being sad. It is a great bit. Tough. Still in good shape despite my novice hands and my cheap hammer drill.

Nice bit, wet drilling, wobble as you drill

*by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2020*

Very nice bit. I used to cut holes in a 30 year concrete floor. I used a Makita 1/2" drill for needed torque. After drilling to limit of the bit's depth, I chipped out concrete and finished the hole. To start, I used a piece of wood with the same diameter as the bit. One thing that helped avoid binding and kickback, I continuously wobbled the bit as I drilled. The hole was slightly bigger, but I did not need an exact result. This also made the concrete plug slightly cone shaped and it chipped out easily. I used wet drilling.
