I would liked to have been told how to finish the resin...ie...carve?,sand?,burn?any little outcroppings left by the mould surface. ### ⭐ One of, if not *the*, worst book(s) I have ever seen *by F***A on Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2013* This book touches on a lot of things about moldmaking and casting - and special effects, and props, and ... It repeats itself repeats itself many places and repeats itself many places. The section about vacuum forming is half written and doesn't have any of the illustrations it refers to - and the information about creating a home vacuum forming system is so discordant and incomplete that I wouldn't recommend trying to follow it to anyone but someone with a degree in manufacturing engineering. Sections about spincasting start talking about casting resin, then suddenly are about the high temperatures involved with metals. I still have no clue of what the section about a master model was trying to convey - master, model, mold, plug and all seemed to be used interchangeably, resulting in nothing but confusion. The illustrations that *are* included in the book are of such laughable (lack of) quality that they make me wonder if the publisher thinks this is a joke book - most of them look like they came off a woodblock press. Over half the entries in the glossary at the book are totally unrelated to anything mentioned elsewhere in the text - why is "airbrush" in the glossary?? I can guess what "glove molds" are from reading this book, but the description of creating one is so confusing that I wouldn't want to try to do so based on this text alone. I had some rough ideas of what's involved in moldmaking before I read this book - and I don't think I know any more now that I've read it than when I started.If anyone other than the author read this book before it was published, I would be surprised: Anyone with even a trace of editorial skills would have sent it back for a rewrite.
