## Description

The Thermos brand is well known as the quality and performance leader in insulated food and beverage products. The Sipp line is our newest series of insulated beverage containers that mixes fashion with function. By using a Sipp product instead of a disposable cup, you can help the environment without compromising style. Why Thermos? An ideal choice for people on the go, the Sipp Vacuum Insulated Drink Bottle with Tea Infuser is built to last and loaded with features to make for a more enjoyable drinking experience. Thermos vacuum insulation technology virtually eliminates temperature change within the beverage container by creating an airless space between two stainless steel walls. The result is an insulation layer that performs better than any other. A superior insulated container you can depend on to keep your beverages hotter, colder, fresher, longer. This drink bottle with tea infuser keeps beverages hot for 12 hours or cold for 24, making it a great choice for long days out and about or in the office. Features and Benefits Constructed with double wall stainless steel, this 16 ounce drink bottle with tea infuser is virtually unbreakable, yet its sleek design is both eye-catching and functional. The specially designed lid features a smooth flow design that helps control the flow of warm liquids. The bottle and lid are dishwasher safe for easy care and use. For tea drinkers, an integrated tea infuser fits right into the bottom of the lid and is perfect for brewing loose leaf tea on the go. The infuser is equipped with ultra-fine mesh to keep tea leaves contained within. It also has pass-through holes at the top so you can leave the infuser attached if you don't have a place to remove and store it. The infuser has a capacity to hold four (4) teaspoons of loose leaf tea. Recommended Tip for Maximum Beverage Enjoyment In order to maximize the incredible insulation technology, it is recommended to either pre-chill or pre-heat the drink bottle just prior to use. This can be accomplished by filling the bottle with cold or hot tap water, attaching the lid and letting it rest for a few minutes. Before you are ready to use, simply empty the water and fill with your favorite beverage. Attaching the lid will further increase the thermal efficiency. Leak-Proof and Worry-Free The Sipp Drink Bottle with Tea Infuser has a locking, leak-proof lid that operates with the push of a button. The lid is made of BPA-free Eastman Tritain copolymer which resists staining and provides durability. And because of the double wall insulation, the stainless steel body stays cool to the touch with hot beverages and condensation-free with cold beverages. The Sipp Vacuum Insulated Drink Bottle with Tea Infuser is made of BPA-free materials and is backed by a five-year limited warranty. Highlights Insulated: Keeps hot for 12 hours or cold for 24 hours with Thermos vacuum insulation technologyDurable: Unbreakable stainless steel interior and exteriorHigh Quality Materials: 100% BPA-freeBonus Feature: Integrated tea infuser to brew loose leaf tea on the goCapacity: 16 ounce

Review: A fantastic new offering from Thermos - I did a lot of research before buying this mug, and here is my review: Packaging: It came without a box, simply wrapped in bubble tape. OK, kids had fun popping it, but overall I would expect a little better for a relatively pricey product. If you are planning on giving it as a gift, definitely plan on creating packaging for it. First impression: From the first moment, it feels like a high-quality product. Nothing appears to be flimsy, all mechanisms, rubber stoppers, and seal-rings seem very elastic, durable, and give a sense of confidence in their longevity. Even the tea mesh seems to be made of pretty strong plastic. The stainless steel mug itself has nice thick walls, and the overall design is simple, but very elegant. Heat / Cold retention: In this area, it does it's job almost too well. 6 hours after filling it with hot water, it was still blazing hot. It's almost like the time stands still inside this mug. After 12 hours, water is still hot enough to enjoy tea/coffee. Even long after 12 hours, the mug keeps water certainly warm. If you really need the mug to keep your tea/coffee hot for hours, you can't do better than this mug. Cap: The cup is pretty comfortable to drink from. The lip on the lid feels natural, and its control of flowing liquid is great, especially for how hot my tea was coming out of it. I really like the fact that the lid locks itself when open, and does not try to close on you while drinking. The few small issues are: the lid is directly opposite the area you are drinking from. If you are driving, the lid may obscure your vision, so be careful. I didn't feel this a huge issue and I simply tilted the mug a little to the side, but this is something to be considered. Also, there is a plastic flap attached to the hinge outside of the mug... what is it for? It does not seem strong enough to hang the mug off the back-pack by it... just seems like a half-thought. Tea strainer: This is probably the biggest complaint that people had/will have with this product. Yes, it's pretty small (though more than enough for 1 teaspoon of loose tea). No, it does not retract by itself to stop the brewing process. Yes, if you drink black tea and you leave the mug full of hot water with the infuser filled with tea for hours, it will make the tea too strong and not enjoyable. However, here I have to defend the design of this mug: 1. If you don't want to over-steep your tea, after 3-5 minutes simply open the lid and take the strainer out. It's not permanently attached and is very easily removed. 2. If you are concerned about tea not having enough room to "open up", you have a small point. However, I did not notice any difference between tea made with this infuser vs. with a separate, larger infuser that I use for tea pots. However, I really don't want it to be any bigger... see #3 3. If you are driving and can't take out the strainer, you can fill the mug just enough water so that it's not touching the tea strainer when the mug is upright. When you are ready to seep your tea, flip the mug upside down; the top is pretty flat and it should stand like this on a desk or in the car without any problems. Once 3-5 minutes are up, simply flip it upright again... problem solved. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase. While the mug certainly has a few design draw-backs, I find them insignificant when compared to the heat retention, built-in tea strainer / filter, and the overall design of the lid and it being perfectly leak-proof. UPDATE: OK, now that I've used it for a little while longer, thought I would provide an update. Still love it. Great (almost too good) heat retention, comfortable to hold, easy to clean, and overall the best mug I've ever owned. The ONLY thing that I wish I could change is if the lid hinge would not be directly opposite of the drinking spout. When it's open, it can block your view if you are driving, especially if you have a small head. Overall, I figured out a way of tilting it to the side when drinking, but this is definitely something I found myself struggling with more than once. In terms of leaks, the only time I noticed a few drops (and I mean a few drops) was when I poured boiling hot water into it and closed it, which no doubt resulted from extreme steam pressure from me shaking it. During ordinary use, I never see any leaks.
Review: My quest for the perfect drink bottle ends here - I have at least 3 travel mugs in my kitchen cabinets that I'm not using for various reasons - it doesn't keep my tea hot long enough, it leaks in my bag, it looks worn out - and so I keep searching for the perfect travel mug. This one by Thermos is THE ONE, and my quest has now ended. First of all, it really does do what it advertises it does - keep your drink hot! The tea I make scaldingly hot in the morning still ends up burning my tongue when I take a sip at 3 pm. And it does not leak in my bag at all - the cap seal is watertight! As for the top spout, it locks securely by itself but for added protection, the little metal loop clicks over the release button and prevents you from accidentally flipping the top open. And may I just say I love the flip top! It keeps the portion where your mouth comes in contact with the spout free of dust and germs and the nasty invisible things hiding in your bag (or floating around in your office). And being a rabid tea drinker since swearing off coffee years ago as per doctor's orders, the little tea infuser is a joy! Yay, no more bobbing tea bag inside the mug that plugs up the spout and keeps me from enjoying a hot drink when the morning commute happens during a polar vortex . A recommendation for future users: I've found that this Thermos works really well in keeping your drink once you've primed it first. Meaning, fill it about halfway with really hot water and leave it there for about 10 minutes or so (the longer the better, I've discovered) before filling it up with your coffee or tea. That way the inside is already warm when you put your drink it, and will not use your drink's heat to bring itself up to temperature. I would usually put the hot water in before I get ready in the morning, and by the time I'm done 30 minutes later I can take the water out and leave it to cool on the counter for use later to water plants, then go about preparing my morning tea. A suggestion for the manufacturer: Maybe in its future iteration, could you guys make the tea infuser a little larger and can it be placed lower into the canister as well? This infuser works well for small leaf teas, but for some loose leaf teas where the leaf expands significantly as it comes into contact with hot water - sencha green teas for example - there's not much room for it to spread out. Same goes out for folks like myself who prefer their tea strong, and conversely put in more than the recommended 1 or 2 tsp of loose leaf tea per serving that can fit in the present infuser. Also, since the infuser is placed high in the canister, the tea leaf only comes in contact with the hot liquid when the canister is full. Once it's on the halfway mark, there is no longer any brewing happening - and there is a waste of perfectly good tea flavor! I find myself inverting the whole thing a couple of times to keep the tea in contact with some of the liquid that's still perfectly hot inside the mug to remedy that. Not a big inconvenience, but definitely room for improvements. Also, maybe we can have a rubberized no-slip grip in the middle of the body of the mug in the next model? Not that I've already dropped my mug in the two days that I've been using it, but I wouldn't want to! Cheers!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GREAT MUG!
*by M***T on April 29, 2018*

Thermos is definitely a brand that has got quite a history and a reputation when it comes to beverage containers! This 16oz'er with Infuser does not at all fall short. I had been eyeing an Infuser cup/mug for a couple months after one caught my eye in a mall. I came close to buying the Romaunt with Twist Valve, but could not personally justify the cost. First impression/use - the Thermos Drink Bottle is built really well, but also simple. I filled the mug with enough of a water level to steep the tea, but left enough room for the water to rise when the lid with Infuser was put on/in. (I didn't want to steep the tea while the mug was upside down). I did do a quick check after the lid was on and turned everything upside down (OVER A SINK!!) to check for leakage - and none found. The Infuser definitely holds more tea than how it looks in pictures (bigger in person). I will not guess how many ounces the Infuser can hold and have not checked to see if these specs are available online anywhere. The lid functioned well. At the end of the first day, it seemed as though the actuation of the lid release button was not as smooth as earlier (had been shutting without much resistance) but now seemed to require the button to be depressed to get the lock tab out of the way. Easy enough to do, and I may not be remembering correctly from earlier in the day. Now, I will just adjust/adapt however I need, depending on how it behaves. Not necessary to send back or lose any sleep over! Temperature - the vaccuum insulated construction is absolutely doing what it is supposed to. I consciously checked at 6 hours and YES, still a 'comfortably' warm drink. Even at 8 hours, the drink was warm, but was on that edge of feeling like it might have been 'stale' warm, or 'sitting for a long time' warm. I suspect a lot of people have topped up, moved to a different beverage, or have forgotten about their drinks in half of those times listed above, anyways. It's a testament to the temperature retention of this mug for sure, and keeps it much warmer and for longer than my Bodum travel mug!! The last characteristic I liked was the size. Gripping this to drink is pretty ergonomic. The narrowed down 16oz container is not too big and not too small. Good balance of height and diameter.
