Grab any bit set with large enough bits to compare to your 12-2 cable. Find the smallest bit that is larger than the cable with insulation, etc. on it exactly as you intend to pull the cable. Standard 12-2 romex ought to go through a 5/8 inch hole, but I would prefer to use a 3/4 inch hole if I could. I have samples of two kinds of 12-2 that would need at least a 1 inch hole due to the sheathing on them. Be sure to allow for any fittings that you plan to pull (which is sometimes necessary but almost always a bad idea). **Q: How could this work with your extensions when this has a triangular shank and the extension has a 1/4 hex end ?** A: It appears that the extension grabs the drill bit with two set screws.
