This is great stuff, but buy your oil separately! **Q: Is this an oil based cleaner** A: It is actually an alcohol based solvent. The main ingredient is diethylene glycol monobutyl ether. This is also known as Eastman DB Solvent. I have even used clp just be sure to dry as much as you can with a q-tip. If you are talking about getting some in striker channel like over spray I wouldn't worry. If you get a lot in, the striker on most striker fired pistols are easy enough to remove anyway to dry. **Q: Is this water based?** A: Ingredients aren't listed on bottle but it seems to be water based but not 100% sure. It suds up when sprayed on and has no odor.
