## Description

This 20" Blade Machete - Book of Eli High Carbon Steel Sword. A thick-spined blade, it is crafted from 5160 high carbon steel and differentially tempered to optimize the blade. The edge is hard (56-60 HRC) to resist dulling and the body and spine (45-46 HRC and 22-25 HRC) are of softer steel to give the blade some shock-absorbing properties and to ensure that it is not so hard throughout. Two halves of carved rosewood have been riveted to the thick tang for a grip. It comes with a leather sheath with a basic adjustable strap that allows it to be worn on the back.

Review: It's NOT the movie prop, but dog gone this is one hefty piece of hardware. - I have a couple machetes and a Cold Steel Barong machete. The Cold Steel Barong is not too bad, but this thing is something else. The blade Itself feels like a minimum two - three pound diving weight to me. It has a full tang 5/16" thick blade that is 20.5" in length to the handle and 28" overall. Like I said it is a full tang blade which means the steel runs the length of the handle therefore 28" overall. This thing is a tank and takes some hand and arm strength to wield it, but I would not want to be on the receiving end of this thing. Okay, the sheath is not factory production or fancy, but come on guy's... it's handmade and stout enough in my opinion to carry the blade for a while. Yes, it's a bit pricey at roughly $199.00 but is a true import and it is handmade which is obvious from the grind marks... DHL delivered it from Paknajol, Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. You know, Nepal in the Himalayas in Asia. Actually, I'm glad I bought it, haven't even unwrapped it from the shrink-wrap type protective blade covering yet. No RUST because it's 5160 Carbon Steel! Let me help you out, Swords and longer blades, in modern times, are often crafted of 5160 carbon spring steel, which is not as hard or brittle as a high carbon steel (such as 1095), but is more durable and less prone to breakage, and therefore more suitable for longer weapons. You'll feel good having this around if the lights go out LOL! If you got questions you can email shresthautshab@gmail.com (Company is Everest Blades) Alright, That's my take, have a good day!
Review: WOW! - If your into camping this tool is great heavy enough to chop wood and a little heavy si it is good for chopping trees of a small circumference down......also if some ones head needs chopping off it could definitely be used as a weapon for protection.

### ⭐⭐⭐ VERY heavy blade
*by K***. on March 29, 2023*

Item weighs in at 1500 gm(3 & 1/3 lb) without the sheath (extra 200gm/7oz). Much of the weight is forward in the blade with the balance point in the front belly of the blade. This makes holding & wielding the blade very labor intensive with repeated use. The handle has a slight flare at the end but not enough to make holding it any easier. A hand stop, a curved end on the handle or at least lanyard hole would be a nice safety feature. One could add a lanyard hole but the full tang blade is 6-7mm thick & will require some effort. The fit of wood handle is off & the tang seems to sit a little high to the wood (? blisters with repeated use) Blade sharpness- it will slice paper but is not razor sharp. The blade finish is very shiny just shy of mirror finish. The holes in the blade are small & easily could have been made 1/2in to lessen weight. The sheath is OK but the blade tip digs into the leather midway in the sheath due to the sheath's curved contour. The retention strap is very thin leather, has a button snap but is attached a little high allowing the machete to slide out exposing 4in of the blade edge. There is a 1-in wide but very thin(less than 1.0mm thick) leather strap with buckle on the back side of the sheath but the leather strap is too short to really allow shoulder/ back carry unless you is VERY thin!
