## Description

Review: High Quality, Lightweight - Overview: My intended use is as a craft/sewing iron. Accordingly, I value these qualities in this iron and I recommend it--but please read my comments (similar to other considerate reviewers): (1) no steam; (2) smooth soleplate; (3) small and well balanced form; (I don't see that toppling is a concern for me) (4) no auto shut off; (5) range of temperatures (it gets plenty hot) (6) light weight (1.77 lb) For my intended purpose of having a lightweight iron to use frequently in my quilting, this iron is perfect (compact/lightweight). It gets plenty hot though it is only 700W. I tested it on fusibles, and they adhered perfectly as intended. I had considered getting the Rowenta (I have the steam generating and a regular one (that hisses and spits) --but after reading the reviews on their travel iron (collapsing handle), I got this iron. It will feel quite comfortable in most woman-sized hands. The fit and finish on the iron is superb; it is perfectly balanced and engineered to include cord reinforcement at the base. As others have noted, it is Japanese 100V/700W appliance (and all info in package and markings on dial are in Japanese. But the heat goes from low to high as with most irons, so you can easily test the heat. The heat dial is larger than most irons. It cannot be accidentally hit and moved when grasping handle. It seems to have a wide range heating settings that most will enjoy. Regarding the voltage: My husband, the electrician, tells me that I shouldn't worry using it with a 120V outlet. As it does not have an auto shut off (a feature I required for my quilting use), consider plugging the iron into electrical power extension (with on/off) that also powers a light so that you always have a visual cue that your iron may be on. I did not notice any heating of the cord. ** Of note: the sole plate is a non stick finish does not feel quite as smooth a stainless, teflon or aluminum. It works fine for my intended purpose. However, if you are looking for a silky glide, you might be disappointed. It is not a problem for me.
Review: Great for quilting. - I have had this iron for almost exactly two years. I use it for quilting and I love it. It has a beautiful flat plate and heats up very quickly. I have lost several irons to gravity, so I keep it flat on a silicone mat instead of upright to prevent it from falling. So far, so good. It has no annoying auto shut off, which I do not consider a fire hazard as, when I use it, it is plugged into a surge suppressor into which my low-wattage LED lights are also plugged, and I turn off the lights when I am done sewing. So if I am using it, the iron is (almost) never left on and unattended. If I want steam, I have spray bottles. Simple, elegant iron.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How can i get the settings from japanese language into english?**
A: I could not find. I noted, however, one of the reviewers kindly translated in English.

It is easy enough without translatation-three settings(low, medium and high on types of fabric). These settings are very standard to any irons you can refer to.

**Q: Can this run on 240 volt?"**
A: Not without step-up transformer dued, This a wrong guidance & clear written 100V . You should remove this comment.

**Q: reviewer said step down transformer is needed? is this not rated for USA household voltage?**
A: It works on regular USA household voltage…..no need for any transformer…..

**Q: 700 watts can it heat enough? I also see that in Japan 100 volts and America 120 volts. Can help make warm up a bit more or just break the equipment?**
A: I’m not sure exactly what your question is, but I use American 120 volts, and it gets very hot. I like this iron a lot! I use it for fusible fabric adhesives and stabilizers that don’t require steam.
