With the rice cooker I rinse the rice very, very well, then I soak it it for 25 minutes, rinse the soaked rice in cold water and place in rice cooker with 1 tsp salt. The ration of rice to water is 1 to 1.5, that means 1 cup rice soaked and rinsed, to 1.5 cups of water, 2 cups rice to 3 cups water., and so on. Don’t add any oil or butter. Cover rice cooker and let it run its cycle. Once it’s done, let sit covered for about 5-10 minutes. Uncover and fluff with a fork and serve. If you have an Excess to Indian Grocery store you may end up buying much cheaper, anyway this is the best Basmati you can buy. **Q: Why will this cust 15 dollars more than other places.** A: I do not know, I ordered a larger bag then the 10 lb, and it is not $15 more than other places. **Q: What is the arsenic level of this rice** A: Though I don't think there is anyway to determine the exact amount of arsenic levels in any rice, there have been some suggestions on how to remove it from the outer layers of the grains. For the first method, soak your rice in water overnight. After draining and rinsing your pre-soaked rice, cook it in a 1:5 ratio (one part rice to five parts water), and drain excess water before serving. Cooking it this way is reported to remove 82 percent of any present arsenic. But the rule in any case Soak your rice over night drain rinse with fresh water.
