## Description

The Spice Way Tomato Powder - ( 8 oz ) dried tomatoes made into a powder used for cooking.

Review: It adds a lot of flavor and a little goes a long way! - It does clump but not difficult to breakdown. I find it reassuring that there are no additives! I will definitely be buying this again. A little bit goes a long way. I mix it with my primal kitchen mayo for a delicious dipping sauce!
Review: Good flavor - A little goes a long way. Really strong concentrated flavor so start out small. I use it to boost the flavor and texture of sauces, stews, soups. I also add it to my meals in a jar recipes. Not salty or spicy at all. It’s a very fine powder and after opening the bag, it started to clump (I live in high humidity) so I transferred it to a different container and added a moisture absorber. Really seems to work. This is a good quality product from a reliable company. Will definitely buy again.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you make soup from this?**
A: I'm not sure you can make a stand alone soup out of this without the addition of other ingredients but it would certainly make a tomato flavored broth. It will also make a tomato paste if you only use a minimum amount of water. I have used it as an addition to soups to add tomato flavor.

**Q: Aproximatly how many cups of powder are in this 8 oz bag?**
A: The package label says that a serving size is 1/2 tablespoons and that there are 448 servings per package. There would then be 224 tablespoons in the package. At 16 tablespoons per cup that would convert to 14 cups. That is obviously wrong. The package cannot contain much more that one cup of powder.

**Q: Is your powder chunky like the picture? I’d like that.**
A: The tomato powder is not chunky. It has the consistency of a powder and blends easily into sauces, stews or soups.

**Q: Does powdered tomato have sodium? If so how many mgs?**
A: 0 sodium👍🏼

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stays fresh a long time
*by R***B on 16 October 2026*

This is my second purchase of The Spice Way tomato powder. It has a good flavor, and will stay unclumped in the bag for a few years. I only need the 8 oz bag, I don't use it that often. The last bag I bought was probably around 2020, or 21, i still had about a quarter of the bag left, but it clumped up and was unable to get the clumps out, so I just got more. It's very good for thickening up red sauces, or flavoring raw vegan sauces and dishes.
