I was intending for my Velo 65's to be more permanent and am pleased this kit is well fashioned for the cause. Review: Good for 26" hybrid tires - Works well with my 26" hybrid tires. It was a good thing I didn't wait too much longer to buy these, as the clip inside the back fender was beginning to wear down from rubbing against the tire. Getting the nut far enough into the plastic for the bolt to catch was tough. You'll need a couple hard, flat surfaces to push it against to help. I used the longer bar for the back and didn't need to adjust the length; I just put the bar all the way in the plastic "foot" that attaches to the frame. If you have mountain bike tires, you'll probably end up sliding the bar out a bit so there's more room in between the fender and the tire. I used the shorter bar on the front (though it wasn't really necessary since the front fender does not flop around), and it was just barely long enough. In retrospect, I would have had some more wiggle room if I attached the shorter bar to the back and longer one to the front. Are they included with the stays?** A: Yes there is a hardware bag with Allen screws in it **Q: what is the weight of these without packaging? also are they steel?** A: These weigh in at 195 grams each, and are steel! **Q: are both stays the same length? I was thinking of purchasing one set to use for the back fender for 2 bikes, the front fender is fine without the stay** A: Mine were both the same length, I have a 1.95 MTB tire on my front and I had to rig up an extension. Back had plenty of room, so you should be set to go. **Q: Package didn't come with nuts and the screws do not fit in the holes they're supposed to go through. Has anyone else had this problem?** A: Mine were included with the fender struts. One did require excessive pressure to screw into the bike frame mount. But. Even if you have to increase the price… the fenders are not structurally stable enough for use without these stays.
