I ordered the 11" length, which is just right to fit inside the lid (the underside). It hangs in the water when the water level is to the top, and since the light can be used in OR out of water, I don't have to worry about evap exposing the fixture to open air, I really like that feature! The fixture isn't even visible to the viewer, and the 2 suction cups hold securely. It gives off just the right amount of light, not too bright, but enough to reach all the corners of the tank and give adequate light to the plants (low to medium light plants). The only thing I don't like is the location of the on/off switch. It is on the end of the cord that plugs into the electrical outlet, which is opposite of where the switch is on every other portable aquarium light I have. I didn't even think of this when I looked at the pictures and the two-piece cord arrangement this light has. If the switch is on the other end of the cord, near the light fixture, it's easy to access and turn on and off. The set up of this 5 gallon tank requires me to use an electrical strip for the accessories, which sits on a stool under the tank stand. With the switch on the plug/outlet end, you can imagine how unhandy that is. I suppose I'll buy a timer so it can turn itself on and off, which will add to the cost, something I didn't want to do with this little aquarium. It is for that reason that I have docked the review one star. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST AQUARIUM LIGHT EVER! *by A***C on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 3, 2019* This is the most amazing fish tank light I’ve ever bought!!! I got the 11 inch white for my 10 gallon top fin aquarium. The original light in my aquarium lid died pretty quick and the “multi light” glo light LED bar that was recommended to me lasted a little while but it crapped out too and was way more expensive than this light. Now, this light is THE BEST light I’ve bought, it’s brighter than all the others I’ve had, I love that I can stick it any where, and it’s very sleek looking and doesn’t look invasive in the tank if you do get a glimpse of it but with the suction cups and submersible aspect that’s not been an issue cause I can stick it anywhere!!!!! The only problem I have with this light (which is 100% my fault) is that it’s not as long as I was hoping it would be compared to the tank, but that is my fault cause I just guessed what size I needed instead of measuring and the only reason I even mention that is to say if you have a top fin 10 gallon tank or I guess any “standard” 10 gal, then a 15 inch light would also fit, and this light also comes in that size!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Perfect amount of light for our little 5-gallon betta tank *by J***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on March 16, 2019* We put dividers in the tank so we could put 3 bettas in the same tank, and of course, this bar light wouldn't work inside after that. So we ended up using the suction cups to put this on the outside (front) of the tank and shine it in. This also had the added benefit of not having the light shine in our eyes from out of the tank (it's on our TV stand under the TV set, so it's always in our line of sight). The only thing we're not real happy with is that one of the suction cups doesn't want to hang on real well, so I'm constantly adjusting it and reattaching it.
