Therefore, I highly recommend that you read and understand the relevant portions of your trip, beforehand. Bought the newest edition to send to a friend who is making a solo canoe expedition in Alaska this summer and he is having a good time reading it. The manual covers a lot of ground and contains good basic information as well as some clever camping/survival tips.
