My 2 year old has been wearing it around the house I wanted to make sure she can't pull her arms out herself before we tested it at the pool. And she can eventually so be careful of this. Otherwise the fit is very good she's 30lb and it says for minimum 33lb, this is her first floaty and she's a bit small for her age. We won't use it at the pool until this summer when she will be a bit bigger. It does have the US Coast Guard approved symbol. I won't use a float for my kids that doesn't have this.
