Size-wise it's definitely overkill but it's what was available on desertcart. Speed-wise it's perfect. All of my settings were originally on a Micro-SD card (SanDisk) which worked perfectly once it was setup properly. The upgrade however is much faster, with a very enormous storage and operating medium. By rights this will probably outlast the life of the Pi, which appear to live for a LONG TIME! Formatting the card literally took a second, if that. Transferring the files over took a little longer with well over 1,000,000 entries in about a minute or two. Then checking the paths and double checking everything was set according to plan....maybe 2 minutes and I mean I did check EVERYTHING! Once all of the checks were done, performed a re-start, gave it a minute and it's now fully functional with the best of everything available! Probably only the 2nd best investment for my Network, Pi Hole of course being the #1 best investment by far! Now I know my Network is much more secure, stable and was simple to upgrade to the highest level with more than I actually needed. The design of the thumb drive also makes it easily accessible should I ever need to remove it too which in turn makes it also more versatile if I have to work inside of the Network enclosure. I would seriously and highly recommend this exact setup and upgrade with this exact thumb drive too. Review: Th SAMSUNG FIT PLUS - the absolute best. - This drive in any size is the absolute best. It has been used daily and multiple times abused (unintentionally - left outside, left in pants during wash etc) since purchase on June 28, 2021 . This first unit I owned has not failed YET (although I naturally did emergency backups expecting failure). I have bought and recommended these drives multiple times since. I notice that they are now not easily available on desertcart; and when available are at VERY premium prices. If you have important CRTICAL data - - they are worth it. The Fit-Plus is a totally different league than the most popular reputable flashdrive brand out there - that has ghosted my data and precious photos many times. Th FIT plus in any size format is the absolute best, and conveniently small as well! Because of this I have one permanently installed in my work laptop for data storage - in case the computer crashes! Extraordinary performance and longevity. ## Features - COMPACT FLASH DRIVE: Exceptionally compact Samsung FIT Plus USB flash drive for instant storage of your photos, videos, music, and files on laptops, tablets, TV’s, car audio systems, gaming consoles and more - SEAMLESS FITTING DESIGN: The unnoticeable, seamless fit is designed with a key ring to prevent loss - BUILT TO LAST RELIABILITY: Shock proof flash drive is also water proof, temperature proof, x-ray proof and magnetic proof - 5-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY: 5-year limited warranty ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07D7Q41PM | | Additional Features | Water Resistant | | Best Sellers Rank | #122 in USB Flash Drives | | Brand | Samsung | | Built-In Media | USB Flash Drive | | Color | Gray | | Compatible Devices | Laptops, Tablets, TVs, Car Audio Systems, Gaming Consoles, PCs, Notebooks | | Connectivity Technology | USB | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 38,995 Reviews | | EU Spare Part Availability Duration | 5 years | | Flash Memory Type | CompactFlash | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00887276265940 | | Hardware Connectivity Technology | USB Type A | | Hardware Interface | USB | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 0.29"D x 0.93"W x 0.29"H | | Item Type Name | Samsung MUF-256AB/AM FIT Plus 256GB - 300MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive | | Item Weight | 4.54 g | | Manufacturer | Samsung Electronics DAV | | Memory Storage Capacity | 256 GB | | Mfr Part Number | MUF-256AB/AM | | Model Name | FIT Plus | | Model Number | MUF-256AB/AM | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Packs | 1 | | Read Speed | 300 megabytes_per_second | | Special Feature | Water Resistant | | UPC | 887276265940 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | 5-year limited warranty | | Write Speed | Lower than 300MB/s | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Samsung - **Hardware Interface:** USB - **Memory Storage Capacity:** 256 GB - **Special Feature:** Water Resistant - **Write Speed:** Lower than 300MB/s ## Images ![MUF-256AB/AM FIT Plus 256GB - 300MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Gunmetal Gray - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/514WukM0Y4L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: I want to use this to store pictures from my android phone. Is this easy to use? Im not tech savvy at all.** A: No, this is a USB-A thumb drive, the larger port on all computers. Many newer better android phones have USB-C (small, oval shaped). Most still have micro-USB (small, trapezoid). The easiest way to tell the difference is if you can flip your charging cable upside down and it still plugs in then it's C, otherwise it's probably micro-usb. I would google photos of the ports to verify. Anyway, there are several thumbdrives that have USB-A on one side and USB-C or micro-USB on the other side. You could also get an OTG adapter for this thumbdrive to plug it into your phone. I'm not sure what software would transfer your photos to the thumbdrive, but I'm sure there are 1000 different options. The built in photos app lets you select days or individual photos and 'copy to folder' on an external drive. Other software might automate the process by copying them all when you plug in the drive. Personally I would recommend Android's built in backup&sync. It will upload your photos when you're on wifi. I think it's on by default, so you should go to google's photo webpage (amazon won't allow link), and log in with the same account you use on your phone and see if all your pictures have already been uploaded. If not, it shouldn't be too difficult to find instructions for turning on backup&sync for photos. On mine there's a switch in the photos app when I look in the 'Camera' album. FYI: uploading doesn't mean they're shared. Unless someone takes a great interest (time&money&hacking) they're pretty safe. That happens to be my main concern as of now with alot of these "low profile" drives, planning to use with a raspberry pi** A: It works great with the Pi. I have one that I use with my Pi 4 and Pi 400, and it doesn't seem to heat up at all. It's also much faster than many other drives floating around. **Q: Can I install a Mac OS, option boot On startup and use it as a hard drive?** A: Yes. I installed macOS High Sierra on it and can start up from it whenever I need to use that OS. It works great and the speed is fine. **Q: What is the default file system formatted as?** A: If you store files larger than 4GB, like video files, FAT32 is old technology that won't store big files. ExFat is much better, no file size limit. If you try to use FAT32 on something that stores video or DVR files, it might not even tell you about the file size limit, it will simply stop recording. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Raising network speed, versatility and stability into the stratosphere. *by A***5 on April 27, 2026* Upgrade for my Pi Hole on my Network. It holds quite a bit of data and is small enough to be placed in your pocket. I'm glad I purchased it back when it was $60 because the prices has increased dramatically since then. ## Frequently Bought Together - SAMSUNG MUF-256AB/AM FIT Plus 256GB - 300MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive, Gunmetal Gray - Samsung Type-C USB Flash Drive, 256GB, Transfers 4GB Files in 11 Secs w/Up to 400MB/s 3.13 Read Speeds, Compatible w/USB 3.0/2.0, Waterproof, 2022, Blue, MUF-256DA/AM - SAMSUNG BAR Plus 256GB - 400MB/s USB 3.1 Flash Drive Titan Gray (MUF-256BE4/AM) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kg/products/69309675-muf-256ab-am-fit-plus-256gb-300mb-s-usb-3](https://www.desertcart.kg/products/69309675-muf-256ab-am-fit-plus-256gb-300mb-s-usb-3) --- *Product available on Desertcart Kyrgyzstan* *Store origin: KG* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
