Review: best pen EVER!!!! - genuinely the best pen i have ever used. preciously, i’ve been so irritated with pens that skip endlessly and go out within a week of opening them. but this one has rewritten that. in a month of use (nearly daily, i am a sub and write notes for every class i cover), it has not skipped even ONCE. it writes so smoothly and does not smudge. the pen design itself is beautiful and ergonomic, i love the color and the grip. fantastic pen, my favorite i’ve ever had.
Review: Great pen for the price... BUT... - I really like this pen. I'm a pen snob so I'm finicky about my writing implements. This pen is weighed well and it's barrel is a bit thicker. I love a fat pen because I have small hands and so they are easier for me to hold without much effort. My only negative feedback is that the grip is not squishy like I had hoped. It is on the softer side, yes, but it's not squishy. I hand-write a lot so I appreciate a comfortable grip that doesn't cause hand cramps and I'm even happier when the pen is weighted correctly/ well balanced. The pen writes smoothly and the ink dries quickly. Fast drying is a great bonus bc that means when I'm writing fast, the line above does not get smudged bc the ink is dry almost as soon as it's applied to the paper. This is a great value for the price. But if you like a squishy barrel, this is not the pen for you.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is the body of this pen metal or plastic? Thanks**
A: Plastic and the bottom section is cushy. Very durable. I have used daily for years. A very comfortable pen especially for guys with large hands.

**Q: Can this pen take g2 refills?**
A: I think you have to get the correct refill that Pilot makes for this pen. - K

**Q: Hi. Will the bold gel G2 refills work with this pen also?**
A: The description is confusing. The headline and photo say it's a gel pen, and I assume that's right, even though the rest of the description says ballpoint. The G2 refills will fit the gel pen. They won't fit the ballpoint.
I used to use G2, but found that the EnerGel refills are the same size as the G2, but write better and the ink dries faster.

**Q: Will this fine cartridge barrel take a "bold" cartridge refill?**
A: I always get bold. It makes it like it's writing itself.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing for arthritic hands!!
*by B***L on August 24, 2026*

I got this pen for my mother who has Rheumatoid Arthritis. She has so much pain in her hands and fingers she has been unable to write for over a year now, and if she tried she could not even read her own handwriting, plus it hurt. The minute she put this pen in her hands it felt comfortable, and with the pen being weighted meant she did not have to press down hard to write, and the gel just flows. She is beyond thrilled, can’t stop talking about it and how wonderful this is! She has been writing down memories, all pain-free, and marvels at how legible her writing is again. I got her a second pen and two sets of refills. She highly recommends this to anyone with arthritis.
