It's sweet right from the start from strawberry, and then the cherry and cacao notes come out and it smells like chocolate-covered cherries, and then it becomes a little woody from patchouli but still sweet. The cherry note isn't harsh, synthetic-smelling, or medicinal. It has a nice warmth in the dry down from amber and vanilla, and on my skin it retains the cherry note during the rest of the wear time. Wear time on my skin is about five hours. The other notes blend very nicely, but overall this is a very sweet perfume. It's not juvenile, though. I feel like you must like sweet fragrances to enjoy this. A lot of people say that Middle Eastern fragrances need to sit or macerate to smell their best, but Mayar Cherry Intense is wonderful on the first spray, in my opinion. The bottle is pretty and fancy-looking, and have no fear about the color--the actual perfume is light colored, not red with dye. (I have fair skin and dark liquid "stains" my skin, so I thought I'd mention that.) Lattafa almost never fails, and this is another great perfume from the brand. Very fruity and sweet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Give it time *by A***N on May 2, 2025* If you find the scent is a little too fake or medicinal when you first open it, don’t give up! It took a few months for the fragrance to mature but now I’m obsessed with it. First off, the tin in which the bottle is housed was cute but mine wasn’t properly secured so the bottle fell out immediately; I recommend opening this purchase on a soft surface to avoid shattering the bottle. Secondly, the first whiff threw me off big time. The cherry sweetness was very artificial and reminded me of cough syrup and antifreeze. That off-putting note lasted nearly an hour but afterward it was quite delicious: hints of dark chocolate and warm woods with a touch of vanilla. After reading a little about macerating a fragrance, I decided to let the bottle sit in a dark cabinet for nearly two months, spraying it once every few weeks to test progress. As of today that opening note has matured into a beautiful fruit reduction scent, like pureΓ©d strawberries & cherries cooked down into a syrup bursting with jammy goodness. The other notes seem to have stayed the same but the overall fragrance has been elevated by this wonderful opening note.
