But I would like to add to what others are saying - the lack of guaranteed variety doesn't just mean a few duplicates, it means you can end up with quite a few of the same. I actually like duplicates because I have two kids and these are for them but I got 7 Marios, 2 Luigis, 2 Yoshis and a DK. Based on other reviews I am grateful that I got as much variety as I did. Very sad I lost the Princess Peach lottery but the cousins will enjoy the extra Marios.I believe the lack of variety is probably because this appears to be a box of individually packaged items for retail in a retail display box.
