Most importantly it completely eliminates the possibility of cross loading a grigri. I have tested it in every possible orientations and it always ends up loaded on the major axis. The captive bar works well, it is tight and the belay loop won't come out. Also opening toward the palm makes it easier to operate with one hand. The material and finish is top notch.
